no i dont agree with compulsory service..but if these young men are able and willing..then who are we to argue

judging by the men i have spoke to ..they want to perform their military service..they want to fight and act for land and country..so thats their choice..in my opinion anyway

I think the problem is that not all the men who are sent to the army are willing.

i know..thats why i made a distinction between compulsory service and those who were able and willing...

I think Rain should be commended for speaking his views so openly. I notice that no other Turkish classmates ever challenge his views, and can only assume that such fundamentalist opinions are the "norm".

So what does this mean? Does this mean that all the wonderful, warm, Turkish friends I have are hiding these views from me, that they are in fact racist and will only ever judge me on my nationality?
