Quoting KnightsWord

This may not be the kind of thread i should post  here, but I would greatly appreciate a translation into English.

My fiancee is Turkish and stays in contact with ex bf.. Basically I would just like to know if their conversation is appropriate.

Ex bf-

Yaptinmi bebeim internetten. Basvuru.- did you apply from the internet, baby?

Isim degisikligine Bisey yapamiyorlar cunku onlarin elinde olan Bisey yok universitenin sisteminde adin nasil kayitliysa oyle cikiyormus bi suru islem gerekliymis onun icin bunlari ogrenip soyleyecekler.- about the change of your name they cannot do anything because they dont have anything ( they have no paper, no document). it comes out as your name is registered in the university system. it takes a series of procedures, they will tell me when they find out(know)

Fiancee-

Tatlim basvuru yapicam bugun.- honey, i will apply today

Yogundum baya. - i was very busy

Saol bebegim yardim ettigin icin.- thank you baby for helping me

Ex-

Sen yap burdan alacaklar onu haber ver bana yapinca ben alicam gidip onlardan bebeim.- you apply, they will take it from here, let me know, when they make it i will go take it from them, baby

Ogrenci numaran ve sifreni biliyor olman gerek. - i must know your student number and the password

Ordan bi bak.- search for it

Fiancee-

Tatlim 10 sene oldu nerden biliyim sifre?- honey, there past 10 years, how can i know the password?

Ex-

Orda vardir. - it´s there

Bilgi. -information

Nasil yapilir. -how it´s to be done

In my opinion their conversation is appropriate, words like tatlim, begegim (honey, baby) are very used with friends. If you want another opinion, you can ask here on the forum, other Turk users can tell you for sure if it´s appropriate or not.

Hello - Is there any way to search the forum?

I´d hate to start a new thread if I don´t have to...

Quick question:

Is this a Turkish dialect when you substitute the ´e´ for an ´a´, case in point: nerde sounds like narde, Teşekkürler sounds like teşekkürlar, what dialect is that?

I´m wondering this too. I once said to someone her şey iyi? And they didn´t understand me. I repeated it and the person said oh har şey iyi.

Maybe the true ´e´ sound in Turkish is in between the English ´a´ and ´e´.

Never heard of this.

There are two e´s in Turkish: open and close.

open e: as in cat or sat in English

close e: as in met or le

In this case it´s open ( /hær/ )

You might have mispronounced it.

Hi all
I´m quite a newcomer in learning Turkish, that´s why I ask for your help. My boyfriend is Turkish, he is celebrating his birthday quite soon and I wanted to say the following:

I’m so glad we’re celebrating your birthday together, it’s all I can wish. You always say you want to make me happy, and I become happier with every kiss, every hug, every conversation, after every time I look in your eyes. You changed my life completely, and now it seems that the time before meeting you didn’t exist. I appreciate everything you did for me, and I will keep in my heart every moment we spent together. I wish I could say in Turkish all the things I feel to you, now it’s challenging, but maybe one day I will. I love you very much. Happy birthday.

I´m not sure if I translate it correctly, so I would be very grateful for your help

"Benim yerim seni"

^^Translate please?

Literally, I understand this as: my place is you...

but that does not make sense.

What is the general meaning please?

Thanks
