Amazing - even Mods follow the Turkish tradition of not being able to take criticism

İf she agrees with you AE then she is able to take criticism,if she is not, then she is labeled by NOT being able to take criticism ?!

Forum rules

11. If you don’t agree with a moderator send a Private Message to the moderator or to one of the administrators instead of posting in the forum. Such posts may be deleted

Your psots as you see havent been deleted,so you call that not being able to take criticism ?!

We didnt put the rules AE,admin did,we were the one who has been asked to keep them only

Every member has to accept those rules in order to be a member at TLC,so its something we all have accepted, members, and mods

So,when members dont follow the rules, and mods point that out,you criticise mods for that ?!

İf we dont apply one rule, then why should we apply the other ?

İf we let the thread breath for that post/member by not applying the rules on it,why should we do with other posts/members ?

Are some members better than others ?

We will get that question BELİEVE ME.

Or do you think its better if we dont apply the rules at all ?!

İf we dont see things the way you see it AE then you accuse them/us of note being able to take the criticism ?

We dont have to agree with you AE to be able to take it

We try to apply the rules for all members at same ways,so no one would feel some have privileges over the others.

The person i want to give it to travels a lot, so thought it was appropriate to give a St Christopher pendant.

İf it was me,i wouldnt mind it,even i would think its nice,it shows your care, but also,i wouldnt put it in a holly position,i mean,i would treat it as nazarlık

İts something we ´grow up to THİNK not believe´ it keep the evil eye away, but still its not holly

İf thats ok by you, then i dont see a reason why cant you give it as a gift.

Hi All. Would a muslim be offended if i gave a St.Christopher pendant as a gift? The person is Turkish by the way. Do other religions recognise Patron Saints ?

Maybe a silly question but i really dont want to offend anyone or their beliefs, by giving this as a gift, if its not the done thing to do

Any advice, thoughts or comments on this would be most appreciated.

Janette

Well,i dont know about others, but i guess i wouldnt be offended ´im Muslim´ but not Turk btw

İts your believe and you care about that person that much so you want to give him/her something holly,or spiritual ´for you´ to protect him,to ..mmm whatever the reason

İ remember i was taking a course, and i was having an exam and i was worried,so friend of mine told me he lighten a candle for me

İ thought it was nice.

But dont give statues or something like this, because mainly we dont keep statues in our homes.

More clearer now thank you,

Then knowing the situation exactly would make the better judge.

İ thought about it as Ayşa´s friend talking on the phone chat with Ayşa´s mother till Ayşa pick the phone, asking her if she is going to the cinema

İ think in that case gitmek would be better.

Sevmek,beğenmek

Are they like,

Love,like in English ?

We can say,i like drinking tea,but i guess we say,çay seviyorum,not beğeniyorum.

So is it more like admire ?

Another one,it seems silly too,but when i got to use them or read their usages at some stiuations,it confused me

Gitmek,gelmek

Daha önce Türkiye´ye geldim.

Means,i came to Türkiye once before

Shouldnt we use gittim ?

İ mean,i went to Türkiye once before

Same is here,

Hayır, Ayşe sinemaya gelmiyor

No,Ayşe not coming to the cinema

Or should it be not going ?

Gelmek or gitmek..which to use in those stiuations {#lang_emotions_confused}

İn English i would use go not come
