sorry I m trying to improve my reading

we are not critising his language or his novels. but u must know that there are many important turkish writers, maybe more important than Orhan Pamuk, and he accepts this too. I cant compare Atilla İlhan or Necip Fazıl Kısakürek with Orhan Pamuk. Nobel award doesnt show he is a perfect writer and everybody knows how did he manage to get this award.

You are just speaking for yourself now Adonis just criticized his language

Ofcourse. And I never said that OP is the greates writer. I love Atilla İlhan too (I shall write down the other and read a book of him soon too), and my favourite are Yaşar Kemal and Nazım Kemal. I never said he is a perfect writer (but I guess I do think so), and the accusations of how he won the nobel, seem highly overrated to me. Not saying he should have got it over other Turkish writers, but Nobel also has to do with how many people read your book

This is true though.
we were discussing him a year ago in a Turkish forum. This guy was furious about O Pamuk. And I asked him if he read any of his books. He replied: 'yes. The snow'. And then I asked 'tell me then what your critisism is about that book'. He went 'imperyalism, USA, EU etc etc'
Of course the book did not have anything to do with those!!

Hahaha yes. Actually that is one of the few books that is more iç looking! But definitely not the best choice to read first! It's a difficult book and a bit boring compared to his other writings if you ask me!

You see determining tha father can be solved easily these days ?!
Why do 'West' have such problems then still ?!
Not knowing who is the son of whom, and who is the father of whom, that what you can call it a HEALTHY SOCİETY ?!

Just a small note on this one.. I dont think that the West is having a big society in which nobody knows who's child is from who. It's too marginal to be an argument in this discussion, that's all.

hahahah, you are so funny DK.

how do you interprete my political view without reading my entries?

I'm the member of Republican People's Turkey (Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi).. okay?

Id rather have you do not laugh at me, I find it rather disrepectful. I have to admit that it was kind of prejudicial to think you support AKP, especially because I remember what you said about baş örtüsü (and we all know that CHP is against the new law, though I have to say that first Baykal was promoting it but now that AKP won, they are against..), and you seem to be a strong kemalist. But still.. Anyway sorry to have misjudged you on that one

I dont support any parti in Turkey, I really think there is lack of a strong leftwing liberal party in Turkey. But I guess CHP must be a better option than AKP or MHP (uking

You sure made me laugh Keith

Sorry that many people experience the the idea that this site is to bash Muslims and Turkey. I would not be here if I hated Turkey and hated Muslims, and I guess that counts for many.

hehe how did u know I talk about her!. Im sorry if I said something wrong, I said a good thing about his mother... I wish u can learn kurdish soon.

Well I never said you said something bad I just wish you didn't drag her (or my mom) into that, as she is among the people I respect most, and has done nothing wrong to deserve to enter a tc discussion lol

Anyway. I dont know what she thinks about it. I dont even know what I think about army-duty So whether its good or bad is not even the discussion. Im just saying Im so sure there are mothers who are against the war and wish not to send their sons
