Elisabeth, I made Ali Nazik with a friend yesterday, and the meat was really tasteful. Here is the recipe:
The patlıcan-yoğurt mixture:
01. Wash the aubergines and some green peppers (hot green peppers if you prefer spicy, or just çarliston biberi, like paprika if yu dont want it hot)
02. Cook them all soft in any way you like (in an electronic pizza pan, in the oven), the inside has to become all cooked and soft, the skin can be burned.
03. Peel the skin off the aubergines, take out the seeds of the green peppers, and cut into small pieces.
04. Crush 3 or 4 cloves of garlic and mix with a large amount of süzme yoğurt.
05. Mix the vegetable mix with the yogurt-garlic-mixture.
The meat-tomatosauce:
01. Cut an onion and fry in a pan with olive oil
02. Once they become a bit transparant, add the mincedmeat.
03. Clean 2 tomatoes and grate them
03. Stir untill the mincedmeat is all brown and add the tomatoes
04. Stir in 2 tablespoons of domates or biber salça (again, depending on if you like it spicy or not)
05. When the meat is cooked, add salt, pepper, kırmızı pul biber, mint (if you like, i dont!), and a little bit of oregano.
When adding the herbs, be careful not to put too much of the mint and the oregano, as it can start to 'rule' the taste..
I suggest you first make the meat tomato sauce before mixing the yogurt with the hot patlıcan, otherwie that will be all cold by the time your meat is fully prepared!
Place some slices of thin turkish bread on a plate, over it the yogurt mixture and on top of that the meat. Serve with some vegetables, as green peppers and tomatoes.
Enjoy
