OK I know I was being a purist!  Slang and popular words are added to the Oxford English Dictionary every year - ´dealt´, ´learnt´ and ´spelt´ have been added too.  But....the fact is, it is still considered to be poor grammar! Grrrrrrr!

I don´t think www.askoxford.com agrees with you

"These are alternative forms of the past tense and past participle of the verb learn. Learnt is more common in British English, and learned in American English. There are a number of verbs of this type (burn, dream, kneel, lean, leap, spell, spill, spoil etc.). They are all irregular verbs, and this is a part of their irregularity."

+1

Thats what they taught us at the uni. The books were from 70´s.

I still don`t get what`s wrong with the Negro biscuits. they don`t taste bad at all. Big smile

I think the "pedo" diapers beat the "negro" cookies anyday...

(for the ones who don´t understand why, pedo is short/slang in MANY languages for a pedofile...GREAT name for a child´s product)

Sounds like a plan - you definitely won´t have a problem with that - post an ad saying "A British blonde with passion for footbal and no brains is looking for a special friend she could sponsor" That will make your postman stay on strike forever lol
