Finally, you may not realise it but this is a phonetic symbol /æ/ (like the vowel you have in cat/mad and it is really hard for foreigners to pronounce (usually replaced by /ʌ/ as in cut or /e/ as in let . It is about time you changed that discriminatory nickname!
