Merhaba, I am having a lot of troubles translating this, hope someone could help me. I just begun learning turkish and still it is advanced for me:

"The children wake up later than their father because the school is not so far. Their mother wakes them up at eight. They wash their face and hands, brush their teeth. They comb their hair and get dressed. They put the shirt, pants, jacket, socks and shoes on. After breakfast, they put on their coats and hats and go out to the street. They go to school alone. This year it´s less dangerous than last year to let them go alone. The oldest is nine and the youngest is seven, but he is as tall as his brother. Sometimes their mother accompanies them to the door of the school. If it rains, their father take them to the corner of the school and then continues to go to his office. When leaving the school the children go directly home. They ask permission from their mother to play in the garden or to go and walk in the park."

Thanks in advance!!

"Ramazanınız Mübarek olsun."

or

"Hayırlı Ramazanlar dilerim."

I just wonder, what ıs the dıfference between all of them?

Thanks

I came to ask the same question, I think we can say:

Ramazanı Şerifiniz Mübarek Olsun!

or

Ramazan Mübarek Olsun

Other possibilities?

Gökhan Kırdar became one of my favourite turkish artist, looking around I found this song '' Son bir kez'', unfortunately still I have tourist turkish (I hope this fact change next weeks lol) could someone please translate it? if yes or not, is there anyone who likes Kırdars music?

elimdeki küçük mum sönecek azsonra
geriye kalan yalnızca kırılmış bir kibrit
güneşe daha çok var, etrafımda gölgeler
kulaklarımda hep senin ezgin

son bir kez seninle olmak için
son bir kez arıyorum seni..

yudumlarken özlemini uzaktaki senden
savrulsa ışık yerinden bulmak için seni
düşlerden daha yakın gözlerimdeki hayalin
dudaklarımda hep aynı isim

son bir kez seninle olmak için
son bir kez arıyorum seni...

P.S. my favourite Kırdars song is "Üstume basip geçme"

Thread: Visa, Work P., Residence for an au pair.

Hello, I hope you can help me,

I plan to live in Turkey the next year as au pair. It seems I am going to be there at least a year with my host family. I already read some topics but still I have some questions, I apreciate any help.

1. I know I need a visa before going there (I am from Colombia), but I am not sure what kind of visa should I apply for (and this is important because the consulate for colombians is located on Venezuela, so, I need to make things right). private visit visa? work visa? tourist visa? which do you think is the best option?

2. I am not sure if i need a work permit if i am au pair.

3. I am not sure if i need a residence permit.

I am sorry if this seems repetitive, but I really need help as soon as possible and still I get really confused about my official status there. Thanks : )

MayraD.

Marion I thank you so much! I never thought this poem tells such a nice story with such a beautiful litarary language. Now I know what it means. Thank you again

"vurdun kanıma girdin kabulümsün"

Everyday I understand more and more why Attila Ilhan is so admired.

Merhaba! I am not sure if this poem is traslated in other part of the forum, i didnt see it. ¿Does someone have the translation to english? I am very interested about knowing the meaning of this words. I have seen Ilhan has beautiful and deep words.

Thanks!!

Emperyal Oteli

Ben hiç böylesini görmemiştim
vurdun kanıma girdin itirazım var
sımsıcak bir merhaba diyecektim
başımı usulca dizine koyacaktım
dört gün dört gece susacaktım
yağmur sönecekti yanacaktı
sameland seferden dönecekti
duvardaki saat duracaktı
kalbim kendiliğinden duracaktı
ben hiç böylesini görmemiştim
vurdun kanıma girdin itirazım var

emperyal oteli'nde bu sonbahar
bu camların nokta nokta hüznü
bu bizim berhava olmuşluğumuz
bir nokta bir hat kalmışlığımız
bu rezil bu çarsamba günü
intihar etmiş kötümser yapraklar
öksürüklü aksırıklı bu takvim
ben hiç böylesini görmemiştim
vurdun kanıma girdin itirazım var

sesleri liman sislerinde boğulur
gemiler yorgun ve uykuludur
sabahtır saat beş buçuktur
sen kollarımın arasındasın
onlar gibi değilsin sen başkasın
bu senin gözlerin gibisi yoktur
adamın rüyasına rüyasına sokulur
aklının içinde siyah bir vapur
kıvranır insaf nedir bilmez

otelin penceresinde duracaktın
şehri karanlıkta görecektin
karanlıkta yağmuru görecektin
saçların ıslanacak ıslanacaktı
kış geceleri gibi uzun uzun
tek damla gözyaşı dökmeksizin
maria dolores ağlayacaktı
istanbul'u yağmur tutacaktı
bütün bir gün iş arayacaktım
sana bir türkü getirecektim
kulaklarımız çınlayacaktı

emperyal oteli'nin resmini çektim
akşam saçaklarından damlıyordu
kapısında durmanı söylemiştim
yüzün zambaklara benziyordu
cumhuriyet bahçesi'nde insanlar geziyordu
tepebaşı'ndaki küçük yahudiler
asmalımescit'teki rum kemancı
böyle rüzgarsız kalmışlığımız
bu bizim çektiğimiz sancı
el ele tutuşmuş geziyordu
gazeteler cinayeti yazıyordu
haliç'e bir avuç kan dökülmüştü

emperyal oteli'nde üç gece kaldık
fazlasına paramız yetmiyordu
gözlerin gözlerimden gitmiyordu
dördüncü gece sokakta kaldık
karanlık bir türlü bitmiyordu
sirkeci garı'nda sabahladık
bilen bilmeyen bizi ayıpladı
halbu ki kimlere kimlere başvurmadık
hiçbiri yüzümüze bakmıyordu
hiç kimse elimizden tutmuyordu
ben hiç böylesini görmemiştim
vurdun kanıma girdin kabulümsün
