I will do as you did

I have bad news for you - if you post something on an open forum, I can reply if I want

Of course you can reply, however you aren't in such a position to entitle yourself to call me rude with a thing that hasn't got anything to do with you.

Quote:

You were quoting Elisa and replying to Elisa - how can it not have anything to do with her?

You couldn't get the point, could you?, I thought as much.(Look! you can say I am rude with the preceding expression.)
OK. Then let me explain it: The one who had made fun of the name "şatılmış" wasn't Elisa herself, but one of her friend. One can easily deduce from her expression that the friend of her who had told Elisa "satılmiş" means "sold-out" was most likely a Turk.

Now you are generalising eh? I certainly DO NOT think its funny to tease people because of physical appearances. However, if they have a funny name then yes, I do sometimes laugh, as long as I don't hurt anyone's feelings. We certainly have some crazy names in the UK hehe!

As I have mentioned in my previous post if you do nothing wrong with making fun of people I don't have anyting to say.

Actually I have given up replying ... its become a strange site lately where all discussions seem to turn into religious arguments . The wonderful feeling of "breaking down barriers" that used to exist here has DEFINITELY gone! What a friendly site hahaha! Anyway, have fun I am outta here lol

Could you, or someone else tell me where religion is with this argument. I think that's your biased view of point.

Correction - nearly outta here! Actually qdemir, I was not referring to our discussion - I was answering Capoeira. Sorry for the confusion. Have a great life - try being less paranoid and have a go at smiling

You insulted and went away. That's very nice of you.
A typical code of behavior of a person who hasn't got anyting to say in an argument and the courage to admit he/she is wrong.

You had better feel pity for your friend not because of his ignorance ,but for his insistence on staying ignorant.
He could have looked up in a dictionary giving the meanings of person names instead of making fun of a person's name.

Why this kind of answer qdemir? Did you see me saying anywhere that I was making fun of that person's name? I was surprised, that's all, and ignorant as well, yes. Now I know, thanks to you, although I would appreciate an answer in a different tone. No need to be rude.

Elisa you make a great contribution to this site and there was no need for such a blunt response to your post.

Gosh, why do you always mention that making fun part?? We were amused, but weren't making fun.
I have a question: suppose you're not a religious person, chances are that you would have no idea that there could be a religious meaning behind that name, right? Would you blame someone for not having had a religious upbringing and hence being ignorant about certain things?

You don't still understand. What has religion got to do with it? That name happens to have such a meaning.

Nobody has any right to make fun of a name whether it has a meaning he/she likes or not
