Quoting admin:

This word, as far as as I know, is very explicit. Deletion of a post is the subjective judgment of the moderator or admin based on the site rules.

Furhtermore, let's say the word in question is as explicit as "f*ck", but this time I just don't understand why you deleted it with asterisk form (c*nt) second time. If writing "c*nt" is still offensive, then why did you not delete my previous post with both "f*ck" and "s*k"? And I won't mention I was and still am far from the field of sexuality or offensiveness.

I won't get into a lengthy discussion of what I did and why. As I said, it was my judgment based on the site rules. We don't want vulgar language on the site, while allowing some informal conversations. The line is not always clear and I deleted that post to show that such vulgar words are not ok to use here.

How easy and pleasant, isn't it?, to imply that you, as admin, can do whatever you like and never do whatever you don't like.

You were supposed, at least, to be consistent and delete my previous post, too, which is as so-called vulgar as, even more vulgar than, the one you deleted. And I asked to be deleted, but you didn't do even this. Well... Good luck with administration!

AllTooHuman I am sorry you feel so strongly as to ask your account to be deleted, but feel I must explain something here.

Sometimes checking a dictionary for a word's meaning is not enough (especially if you are using swear or slang words). Whatever its meaning, the word you used is considered to be the most offensive and taboo of swear words.

I dont know about the USA, but certainly in the UK it is socially unacceptable to use this word. It has completely different status to the other words you used as comparisons.

+1
This is an issue for English as a Second Language speakers. Because, many vulgar words are used in movies and music lyrics they assume it is acceptable to use in conversations or a dialogue. There are VERY strict social/cultural rules that apply to usage of these words that are difficult to decipher. All languages have social codes. And using a word of that caliber outside of those social rules is considered offensive and unacceptable. As my father would say, "Them is fighin' words!".

in essex every other word from someone's mouth is c*unt so it depends on how you were raised and the usage in your area as to whether you take offence or not to, so it is usually easier to err on the side of caution.

Nice - another reason to avoid Essex!

I'm curious as to how one's raising could make that word acceptable. It is common in rap videos for the men to refer to the women as B****, H* and other black people as N*****. However, if ANYbody including Snoop Dog walked up to me and called me that to my face I would be deeply offended. Just because the frequency of the word being used changes, does not mean that it has moved from its status of being rude, crude and socially unacceptable!
