Teas you made me laugh!!! How can you simply "give back" land now? Many of the original inhabitants of land were simply wiped out. And you can't say that your meagre "reservations" are compensation!!!
Most countries are guilty of taking land - do we all give it back now? As simply as that?

Quoting AEnigma III: Quoting teaschip1: I know in the U.S. we acknowledge the geonicide of Indians. We could do more as a country I feel, however we at least gave them some of their land back. How about Turkey at least doing this for the Armenians after all they were force to flee. |
As far as I was aware, there is no PROOF that there was any genocide of Armenians. |
The PROOF is tucked away in the Turkish governments vault. Maybe one day they will provide their documents to the world...

Hey! I have no opinion one way or the other, and I hate that this subject is treated as taboo in Turkey, but you also cannot ASSUME its true. And how do you KNOW that proof is tucked away in the Turkish governments vault?

Well, for a start, to give any kind of worthy compensation you would have to give half of North America back to them!!! As this is never going to happen, you give them poor, unwanted, tiny pieces of land and can go away happily with clear consciences and forget them

The situation was between Ottoman Empires and Armenians...
So Turkish Governmet or todays Turkey cant be resposible for what happened...
apart from this...
It was WORLD WAR you know... not something simple between indians or americans...
Everybody has their borders right now!!
Its so sad to see that still the minds ages ago are still alive! what a lose!
