Do you remember the moment when we came eye to eye for the first time? It was a forbidden meeting, You knew I wanted you. Your emotional glances, it was understanding, it was important. From time to time your glances would sing, I was listening to you without you knowing, listening to your glances, I wanted to extinguish the fire you had started within me inbetween your eyelashes, but instead the fire grew. And now you should also set yourself alight, there is no part of me left to burn. I cant believe it, do you really exist? I still cant believe it, are they your hands that I hold? are they your lips that I kiss? who knows, maybe you dont exist, maybe Iam dreaming and a while later I will wake up. All of a sudden everything will be erased, nothing will be left, your hair no longer, your eyes, again destroying, I will return to my loneliness, a little more ruined, a little more without you. I saw you for the first time that day, I thought of you, a few years have passed between us since you came, just think how much Ive missed you. If you do, dont go, please, Iam willing to grieve anything you give me, make me taste the greatest of all pains. I will drink the most violent of all poisons from your hand. But please dont go. My lips were dry, my soul was on fire, I was like a branch desperate for water, you were the rain. As a bud I became green. Then you were the sun, you gave me life, you gave me a scent, you gave colour. If leave now, I will dry up again for the last time, my branches will become dust do you understand? Because after you there will be knowone else, I know, nobody else will ring my door, if you leave you will leave me condemned. I will wish myself dead, then I wish I would die. Now Iam with you, Iam living you. Dont leave me, Iam a piece of you now. Maybe I became you right from the start, but your unaware. Dont leave me..Iam happy that you are who you are. If you want dont be me, dont be mine, but please dont leave me, please DONT LEAVE ME!!!
- His letter is really diffucult to translate directly into English - its written very abstract.

The lines aren't his.
why don't these men, especially turkish ones, try to write something theirs and express themselves with their own words?!
They copy-paste, copy-paste... Even their loves are copy-paste.

Why are you all so cruel huh? Haven't you ever done the same?
Don't we all copy paste lyrics to express our love with? And how many times haven't we memorized love quotes to impress our lovers? Ok, some of us have the potential to write down our own thoughts, in a nice, fluent way. But some don't have this talent. Shall we shoot them just because they are not poets?
This man has just written a letter. If he did the copy-paste trick, means that he spent time to find it and copy it. Otherwise, he would have written a simple 'seni seviyorum bir tamem' and he would get himself out of trouble. I didn't notice him saying that this was his own literature. And Shylo was happy enough to receive it. She said it herself, that she was going to ask him if this was a song or something. But that didn't seem to bother her. So why shall we break her heart and generalize about copy-paste lives?
But then again, this is just my humble opinion....

I agree, we're not all great writers. I could use a poem to show my love to someone, because that poet can put things into words better than I can. But then I would at least say that the letter/poem is a quote, and mention the name of the original writer. That's only fair, both to the one who took the effort and has the talent to create a poem, and to the one I love!
I'd never just use something someone else wrote and pretend that I was the one who wrote it.
So I think it's OK to use someone else's words, as long as you admit that they're not your own!

Sui I ve seen your posts and I can understand how much you must be loving music. So, answer me please, honestly, haven't you ever sent lyrics to a girlfriend to express your feelings to her? Haven't you used the copy-paste trick, copying them from internet and sending them to her?
I have done that, even to express my love to a greek man, although I can use my language damn well and I am talented enough to write my own thoughts on paper.
Haven't you ever done the same?

Yes honey, I know what you mean and I totally agree with you. But she was going to ask him, and he may have already told her that it wasnt his own letter.
And also, keep in mind that those 2 people can't use the same language to communicate. He just sent a letter...it's as simple as that. Trying to explain where he got it from, would be useless and it would ruin the magic.
Maybe he is one of those dishonest men that we have talked about many times in this Class. But what if he is not? Everybody is innocent, unless his guilt is proved

"music and letter" are not the same things to express feelings yeah i did it send lyrics.. becoz i live with music it is my must in the life.. but i always wrote my own words when writing a letter.. so be careful about comparing the things.. i am not against to get spirit.. but its not that true to take whole..

I understand what you mean too. But I would feel very disappointed if I would realize that one of the reasons I love a guy is his talent for writing beautiful things, and then have to realize that it were never his words but someone elses..
But in this case, my way of thinking may be hypothetical indeed

I would like it for someone to write me lyrics or a poem if they had really thought about the wording.........but wouldn't be impressed if they tried to pass it off as their own.
Then again there are worst things a man could do to upset me

I agree with Elisa, if people are going to copy and paste poems and send them in letters they should atleast say who the poem is by, that way maybe the reader can appreciate it and understand it a bit more. However, I have to ask what is the point of copying and pasting a very abstract peice of Turkish literature if the reicever of the letter cannot understand Turkish and has to get it translated into another language? Because with such abstract poems its difficult to convey the meaning and feel of the poem, so really whats the point at all? Its like sending a stanza of shakespeare to someone who doesnt understand English.

In my opinion from one hand It doesn't matter where these words from. It's more important what he actually wanted to SAY with them. From other hand some say that words going from heart are the most outstanding and original. And if he has deep feelings it's not a problem to find them.
