Quoting Daydreamer

Of course there is. You just have to speak of ethnicity not religion.

I can understand her confusion though. Under the current Jewish definition of Jewishness, you are a Jew if your mother was Jewish. It speaks nothing of belief. Under that definition, one could have very little Semitic genes.

...got a new gasket for my old stainless steel Aeternum pressure cooker. At the time I got it there were only aluminimun ones around, but the gasket wore out and they were impossible to find here.......so...Now, at long last, I´m cooking with a proper pressure cooker, but as it doesn´t have a pressure guage, so I´m learning how to test the pressure other ways....lol...

Pressure Cooker Test there is some interesting information on using pressure cookers here.

Do you use a pressure cooker, and if so what kind?

This is really scary!  If I had a spare 5 hours, I certainly wouldn´t spend it in front of the TV nevermind let my toddler do it!

I totally agree that 5 hours infront of a TV is far too much for anyone, let alone a toddler but I also think that, for the report to say "They are considering drawing up strict guidelines which could even advise parents to ban toddlers from watching TV" is ridiculous. Every child should be entitled to watch a little TV to engage in their own childhood state of minds and watch the "little kiddies" or cartoon programmes we so loved to watch when we were children. Some actually help children learn. But even now, I can remember watching things as a child that I loved and some were absolute classics and I love the fact that now that we are adults we can indulge in a good conversation about what we used to watch as a child.

And yes we all do it! reminiscing our childhood I mean. Whether it´s the sweets we would buy by the quarter, or the old classic toys we used to play with, we still find ourselves to this day talking about it and I it can be a real nice conversation, and I don´t think we should be allowed to take that away from our children nowadays - but cut it off to a certain point which is still healthy so that they are still able to say "do you remember when we were children this - type of sweet/programme -  we used to watch".

For example, anyone ever remember toffee crumble that you could buy by the quarter? My mum lives in a small village where they still sell by the quarter sweets and that is one of them thankfully!

A former Turkish F-16 pilot in  al-Qaeda´s camps?

..

They have European citizenship and many are of Pakistani origin, the senior official of Pakistan’s inter-services intelligence agency said.

Foreign fighters in the area include Chechens, Uzbeks, Arabs and Turks, one of whom was a former F-16 pilot in the Turkish air force.

I wonder if it is true and what made him switch considering the strong secularism in the army.

Giant pumpkin with 16ft circumference

Their largest pumpkin has an incredible circumference of almost 16ft and amazingly grows more than 30lb every day.

..

Last year American maths teacher Christy Harpy and her husband Nick, from Ohio, set a new world record with their entry weighing an amazing 1,725lb.

But this year, Ian and Stuart hope to smash that with their behemoth pumpkin which still has over 40 days left to grow.

Ecological disaster in Hungary

A lethal torrent of toxic red sludge from a metal refinery engulfed towns in Hungary, burning villagers through their clothes and threatening an ecological disaster Tuesday as it swept toward the Danube River.

The flood of caustic red mud triggered a state of emergency declaration by Hungarian officials. At least four people were killed, six were missing and 120 injured, many with burns.
