I am a beginner but i think it translates like

I became sulky to you

but

âþýk means in love

whereas asik means sulky.......decide which suits the context

sulky? no

"aþýk olmak" means "to fall in love"

so the first translation is correct

i agree with both of these and so it brings up my query:

i like to attempt the tur to eng transations here on the forum because I can come back and check on my mistakes and they are easily found and neatly organized.

but I feel very bad when my attempt is wrong.      that poster could be upset and respond too quickly to their loved one before a better/correct translation is posted.  even if they do wait for more translations, they could be heartbroken or incorrectly hopeful.

so, what should i do?  should i stop trying/attempting translations for the ones im not too sure about?  your best suggestion?

The best thing to do is to always put a ´disclaimer´ at the end of your translation.  Something like ´my attempt but I´m only a learner so wait for corrections´

Great advice! It also means that we feel very relaxed about correcting it, knowing that you are asking for corrections  ...

From one learner to another, might it be a more colourful way to say:-

´Seni gorur gormez aþik [or asýk - as the case may be] oldum´   ???????????
