The reason I came here is learning Turkish ...I prefer to do it in peace and with respectable correction of mistakes , not with comments of some irritating ironical wiseacre , who definitely is not friendly and positive ( as I have noticed while reading older forums)... so no need to keep her from leaving ...yurtta sulh, cihanda sulh

Well thank you very much. This is a nice way to enter the forum.

Unfortunately for you Ý won´t leave, but Ý might think 3 times before helping you with your learning Turkish/translation requests, miss Worldpeace.

Melike - your are not a moderator or admin - it has nothing to do with you how someone enters a forum. Kailin is entitled to her opinion and I am sure she will find plenty of people to translate for her amongst those who were doing so long before you arrived on the scene.

You made 4 mistakes in one sentence.

Hese (Hese´nin)neden hapishane´de(hapishanede) olduðunu hala(hâlâ) bilmiyorum, sen (nedeni)(nedenini) biliyor musun ?

1. hâlâ: still

2. hala: paternal aunt

However, it´s not a mistake to write ´hala´ when it means still. Like most Turkish speakers, I never write ´hâlâ´ as it isn´t worth, spending the extra time to insert the letter â. It may be necessary to write ´hâlâ´ if writing ´hala´ would cause a confusion in terms of meaning. In the sentence above, however, it´s obvious that ´hala´ doesn´t mean aunt.

Where is the letter â on turkish keyboard? Or on this site when you right the messages near the other turkish characters ?

We don´t use accent on a´s anymore... according to Turkish Language Council... so hala is not wrong!!!
