Quoting lady in red:

Actually, Oxford and Cambridge are not the best universities from which to get a medical degree. UCH London,KCH London, Guy's or St Thomas' would be a better choice.

Ohhh thanks LIR I'll look into them!...Thanks again!

People asking me if I'm Russian because my name is Russian and when I say "no, I'm not Russian" they say, "oh, why do you have a Russian name?"...simple answer: because my parents (dad thought of it) gave me the damn name!

I also had one person say "you lying, you are Russian, you have Russian name" So because my name is originally Russian that naturally makes me Russian?

Do you mean you didn't understand the expression or didn't understand what I meant by it? I just thought that you were obviously desperately trying to think of something else you could mention that was bugging you to add to the huge amount of things that seem to bug you every day! By the way - it doesn't bug me but people in Turkey often think I'm French - however, no-one in France has ever thought I was Turkish!

My first name is typically associated with males. If someone hears my name before seeing me or speaking with me, they assume I am a man...does it bother me? Not in the least. I am quite confident that I am all woman!

So I can't really grasp why being thought of as Russian would be so upsetting.
