This type of writing is intended for text messaging as it does make the message shorter and therefore less costly to send/receive....and text messaging is where it should stay. Seeing here....it's just annoying. It's NOT cool, it's NOT funny, and it's NOT that much faster than just typing out the words.
When I see it, all I can think is
a) someone is trying to be cool and they aren't
or
b) ahhh, this poor uneducated person doesn't know how to spell.

Have to agree with robin on that one. If you saw my proper writing, the way I write (sometimes) to my mates this sentence would look like this:
hav 2 agre wit robin on d@ 1. if u saw my propr writin, da way i rite (sumtyms) 2 my m8s dis sntnce wud lk lyk dis.
Anway, it's a bit like asking why do people talk the old English as in representing themseleves as "one" when others use the modern English such as "I". It's also saying if people don't talk proper English it's annoying....in that case, you should talk to some of the people I used to live near...init
Either way I don't mind how people talk, I agree it does get annoyig if you are trying to learn a language but alot of the time it's not us "youngsters" who use slang and not just in English either.
For example: hsg - Hoşgeldin(iz), kib - Kendine iyi bak, slm - selam, tsk - teşekkürler and so on

But that is what I was saying! It's isn't just lazy assed English people that use slang! Thats why I gave Turkish definitions too. Not to mention the other languages.

let's not turn the forum into another heated debate, especially not about the english language seeing as this is a TURKISH language site.We are not in school ro in class anymore, theres no exams here and to be honest this place just seems to be full of people who like to argue, can't there be just ONE post without people bickering about things.
oh and today valentines day is bugging me!i hate that, and mothers day,fathers day,teachers day,grandparents day etc etc blah blah blah..

I wasn't being insulting actually.Guess u read it the wrong way or it wasn't put in the best way.I just didnt find it amusing.Although i do find it funny how you can ridicule people and that is acceptable but when someone returns it, you are offended.Anyway, I won't bother answering them anymore.

I guess you have not learned the difference between friendly teasing and ridiculing - which is what I was saying the other day.
