No different?? The big difference is that you can use it with any Turkish (and English) word you see on any website on the internet. It runs in the background, and when you see a word you want to have translated, you alt+left click and the translation pops up.. |
In that case it is not working for me - I have to physically click on the icon to open it then put in the word I want. :-S I'll try and work out what I have done wrong

Could you explain the steps of installation you took? And what Windows version are you using?

As for my failure in downloading it at work, could it be cause of not having turkish characters there? I can't even view most pages based on turkish language.

Not having Turkish characters shouldn't affect the way the software works. Can you give the operating system and the browser you are using, and what happens when you alt+left click on a word in your browser? Does it show a message, or open a pop-up window?
In your previous post, you said that it displays a page not found message. Does this mean that it opens a popup window with this message when you Alt+Left click on a word?

I have not installed the latest version (don't want to install it on this machine as it is a development machine!) but the first version required me to highlight the word and then Alt+click (left or right) to get the translation.
The instructions imply that you simply have to be over the word and Alt+cick to get the translation - they do not say you have to highlight the word.
Could this be the cause of the confusion?

Oh wow, that sounds strange, cause I don't have to highlight the word at all. I just alt + left click over it and it works every time! Strange things happen.
By the way, did anybody notice that there's a new English -> English section in the dictionary now? I find it very useful.

Ok, I noticed that when I click on a Turkish word containing the letter "ı", it interprets it as "i" and doesn't recognize the word. Admin, what do you say to that?
The same thing happens with letters "ş" and "ğ"...
Also, I don't know if this happens to everyone, but the first time I click on a word, the dictionary window pops up on top of it, but if I don't close this window and check another word, the dictionary window doesn't pop on top again.

Actually it should work without highlighting, and it works like that on my computer. I will check why you can't capture without highlighting.

Ok, thanks, but at the same time it works fine with the other characters: ü, ç, and ö.

İ am having same problem too,and i have Turkish characters in my Pc
İ have English and Turkish installed in my Pc
İt happened with ı,ğ,ş but works well with ü , ö
Me too don't have to highlight the word,its enough to point at it and press Alt+right click
But word capture failure at first attempt,when trying again,it works |

Can you tell me why this is any better than the dictionary that admin has written? Especially consider in your reply that this thread is about a dictionary that you can add to your computer without being online!
