Hi all
Thankyou everyone who has replied I feel very pleased to see such caring people and because it was to be an important time for me and my girlfriend Nesrin, I felt I had to share this with all the great forum members of this wonderful website. I will go back to Istanbul as soon as I have sorted out what I hope is a small stomach problem. I learn new things about life everyday and for me to have such a wonderful girlfriend always inspires me to poetry and other things. I have grown fond of Turkish people and especially Istanbul.
Best wishes

Hi all,
I was due to travel to Istanbul on the 1st December amongst other things to get engaged unfortunately I have been unable to travel due to health reasons. I have had a stomach problem for many years but have had alot of stomach acid and indigestion and felt quite bad I am getting some tests done but the main dissapointment is I could not see my loved one. She is very upset understandably and of course I am it is a huge dissapointment for both of us. I was due to meet with Lovebug I wanted post this message to say if she is reading sorry I will not be there. I do intend to go when this stomach problem settles down.

Hi all,
I am sure I will not be the first to thank all the people on this forum who translate our messages every day and very efficently I myself do appreciate the translations very much, I do have a go sometimes and try to take my time in working out the translation but then always come on the class for help. Without this translation help I am never able to write my poems or messages that I like to, to my loved one in Turkish. I know she can write and speak good English but there has to be Turkish written from time to time. Once again thanks and also congratualte yourselves!

Hi Evie,
Welcome to the forum, I do speak little Turkish but admit to being lazy when it comes to communication with my girlfriend and her family, Nesrin my girlfriend speaks very good English but I am determined to learn for myself as much as Nes and her family. I have found sentances hard to put together the way to learn is very much to listen every day to common Turkish greetings, I practice these most days the basic hello welcome how are you, how is work how is the weather and so on. Try not to put to much pressure on yourself to learn quickly I think the best way is to learn is to be with Turkish people. My father for instance was in the RAF and stationed in Germany he spoke no German but having to work with German people he soon picked up the language and is fluent speaking now, and this is without any books classes or any help just speaking everyday. Good luck to you

Hi,
Please can someone translate my new poem I have made, I started writing over a year ago and was intrested before this some years before but I trully never met a woman like my Turkish girlfriend who inspires me to write poems for her. I often have a pen and paper to hand day and night and always jot words down when I am thinking mode. This is another special poem for her please translate

As Long As You're Near

The first time we met, I could see,
That you and I, were meant to be.
Your eyes were so gentle, your smile so true,
When you first held my hand, I just knew.

Now the time has gone by, through laughter and tears,
These days I shall cherish, for years upon years.
Those memories we have, shall never fade,
For those are the steps, that we have made.

That was the past, the future is near,
I anxiously wait, for what will appear.
New homes, more laughter, and children so dear,
Everything will be wonderful, as long as you're near
