Thread: OLD ABANDONED HOUSE IN ASSIA MINOR

I have been concerned about this matter. I hope Turkey stays safe, and out of it.

However, with the thousands of Syrian refugees now in Turkey, doesn´t it strain resources?

Then, there is also the matter of the old Turkish-Syrian dispute. I remember talking with a young man from Syria some years ago, who told me Hatay was Syrian. Now, when I read about all the refugees, that comes to mind.

Sigh....how I wish for peace.

Those who read my post above can perhaps notice the similarity between,

1. The way Greeks were lured to invade Assia Minor in 1922. and then abandoned to face the Turks fighting for their own freedom and independence,

2. The way Republic of Turkey is being encouraged and lured into attacking neighbor Syria today, as if Turkia is the only responsible party to bring order to Syria. Why cant United Nations put their  joint act together, if any action is necessary?

Who are these manipulators, for god´s sake ?

I hope Turkia does not take the bait.

An informative post, thank yhou Alpha. I am curious why the buildings are still abandoned. Can´t they be sold? If there was a population transfer, why not release ownership to the buildings too?

Following is the comment I made regarding one of the pictures posted in our friend Sophie´s profile. Those interested can check Sophie´s profile, see the picture of the old abandoned house in Assia Minor, read related comments by Sophie and others and understand why I thought this additional information was necessary.

Thread: Where would you like to be buried...

I have already made plans and purchased a burial plot. I want a Muslim funeral, which is to be washed, wrapped and put in the earth, in one piece, no embalming and as close to the earth as possible. I don´t care about any markers. I most definitly want prayers for my soul to help along the way. Death is a mystery, but throughout time the body of the deceased has been treated with respect.

I´m not sure how things are where you are, but here I have seen people die and the problems of what to do with the body. A friend of mine, who I was closest to passed away a few months ago. The hospital called to inform me of his demise. The next sentence was, "what do you want to do with his body?". It was a big problem as he had not made any real practical what to do immediately arrangements.

It is something we all need to consider, as we are sure to present the problem sometime in future.

If you had any idea what can happen, you may think more carefully about your prospects.

...if you had the chance to choose? How important is it to you? Have you written it in your will?

He´s got a gimmick, they say everyone needs one. I must say that shop must have a rather offensive odour. Burnt hair smells awful.

Shaving with a hatchet....hmmm....I must say the barber looks very skilled in his blade manipulation. I wonder if it´s a special hatchet with a particularly sharp blade.

The classic straght edge razor blades are very sharp and seem to hold the edge well.

A friend of mine found this product and posted it on her Facebook page.Sorry about all the adds in this video, but the product is fabulous and could help many people lead more fulfilling and productive lives. I looked at it and noticed the company is Turkish.

This could help so many people.

Maybe you need to reduce the resolution in the photo? You can do that with a couple of programs like Thumbsplus  or like Gimp. There are very pricey programs like PhotoShop, but for what, I think, you need these would be more than enough.

Of course, they hate it in capitalist countries when unaccounted money is made. Not much difference in that area as far as both systems are concerned.

Do you know if knowledge and production has increased in recent years? As far as the religious persecution is concerned, I have heard some pretty awful stories in that area, but of course, have no first hand experience.

Quoting lemon

Wrong! Official religions like Islam, Russian Orthodox or Catholic were not persecuted much. Churches and mosques were open, but they raised children atheist.

The reason they had it in secret (mini cocoon productions), because it was sort of additional money making. Communists hated when people made some money.
