Wow, that doesn´t sound very friendly. It certainly isn´t very hospitable for expats.....and I was considering retirement in Turkey.

Yes. (That´s my understanding)

Up until now, people would leave Turkia for one day (a short trip to Greece or Bulgaria) and get another 3-month visa at the border.

For those who wants to stay more than 3 months, there may be longer term visas if they are qualifed (I don´t know how exactly though)?

I did not read the whole article carefully, but can someone tell me how this applies to anyone wanting to stay in Turkey more than 3 months? What if they have their own money, will they have to leave after 3 months, stay away for 3 months before entering again...???

Yes, and it will only cost XXXXXXX $$$$ but it is the only way and, if it could be done for free, of course they would do it....{#emotions_dlg.head_bang}  meanwhile....hand over your first born...and....and...

I can´t help but think that every news venue is corrupted by the political machine and the more I watch the debates the more I am convinced that many citizens in our country have attended something like the Big Lie School! While everyone is wasting time keeping up with Kardashians, the sadness of another Hollywood breakup or which celebrity had plastic surgery, our elected officials or would be elected officials are coming up with more ways to make the American people believe that evil Turks (or insert any other group here) are out to get us and we need to stop them!  And all the while they are telling us that only they have a plan to protect us.  {#emotions_dlg.head_bang}{#emotions_dlg.head_bang}{#emotions_dlg.head_bang}

Absolutly, 100%, when I read the transcript it was amazing, but after all, it was on a Fox/ WSJ (now Rupert Murdock) sponsored debate. He said we should stop giving Turkey aid...but didn´t know Turkey doesn´t get aid from the US

It´s amazing these people get away with outright lying. {#emotions_dlg.head_bang}.....but then they probably sudscribe to the "Big Lie" school.

 I think the way the question was asked was equally ignorant!  I don´t know where Bain got his facts but the entire portion of the debate was/is completely inflammatory!  Honestly, alameda, I think my head is going to blow off if I have to explain that Turkey is not an Islamic republic to one more person...how about you??  Now, I am not saying Turkey doesn´t have issues!  In any case, I don´t think we have to worry about Rick Perry.  It doesn´t look like he will succeed in getting the nomination.  However, it makes me wonder how many people REALLY think this!!!  {#emotions_dlg.head_bang}{#emotions_dlg.head_bang}{#emotions_dlg.head_bang}

One day Nasreddin Hoca borrowed a pot from his neighbor. After about a week, he returned the pot with a smaller one. Perplexed, his neighbor asked why he was giving him another pot. Hoca told him the pot had a baby.

About a month later the Hoca asked to borrow a teapot, to which the neighbor anticipating two in return was overjoyed to bring the Hoca a teapot.

After a couple of months waiting he couldn´t take it anymore, so he went to the Hoca´s home and asked about the teapot, to which the Hoca told him it died. The neighbor was upset and said what do you mean, how can a teapot die. The hHca asked if you believed it could have a baby, why now you don´t believe it could die?
