Thanks for your very thoughtful and well written replies. Im glad you said it wasnt a case of how clever you are as i was beginning to thing it might be that! You are right scalpel I am really talented in other aspects of my life but unfortunately learning turkish or any other language wasnt one of them so this i think may take me longer.
Never give up is my motto, and yes i need to get over the fear of getting things incorrect, everyone has to make mistakes to learn from them.

Do you think that some people are natural to learning new languages?

My friend lived in Bandama for 3 years but picked turkish up after 3 months of being there. I have been here for 6 months and still i only know the basiscs. Through the winter i will try extremely hard to learn as i will have more time for myself and my studies.

But my question is, is there really a set time span for learning? if there is i will set my target

Thanks
Laura

Seeimg as though I am staying in Marmaris over the winter months, i thought i may as well do something good with my time and hold some English lessons for those Turkish people who want to better their English or simply want to learn it.

So if you live in the Marmaris area contact me.

If anyone is interested please contact me with your details.

Thanks
Laura

Yoklugun tesadüf adeta
bu yalnızlık yalandan macera
muttluydum senin kollarında
hata benim üzülme sen üstüne alınma

Yok geçmez senden başka yol geçmez
kalbimden izlerin asla silinmez
farketmez hiçbir hatıra yetmez
seni benden uzaklastırmaz

gel askim gel
gel dunyam karıssan
beni vur kalbimden
vur bastan acıtsın

gel askim gel
gel dunyam karıssan
beni vur kalbimden
vur bastan acıtsın

Just a song i would like translated. I ave guessed most parts and translated them myself but it doesnt ever make sense unless its translated properly to me.
Thanks

I would just like to point out that i ALWAYS read the posts before i even post a reply, I couldnt post a reply if i didnt! what i posted was fair, and not to support any member in what they think because actually i dont agree with any of you, as i have my OWN opinions and thats what i was trying to get across.

these stupid posts are getting in the way of certain friendships and i find that very sad.

As i said in my previous posts, i dont like to get into these arguments on here but i think this one too is getting out of hand. as i recall the questions was 'do you think turkey will go into the UK?' so why has it blown up again out of all proportions? to start inflicting insults on people that used to be good friends on here is pointless. everyone has their own opinions, but i agree that things should be read up on before commenting otherwise its just not fair.

Personally i think Turkiye deserve to go into the EU, after all they are just normal people and have the right to aswell. But even though i think they will join, it wont be for a long time and also i dont want them to join as it will take away from what turkey is, a nice country with great people and cultures. I hope this never happens.

People see the EU as an 'escape' but believe me you will want to escape back out of it when you realise its not the paradise that you think it is.

İKİ TAS ÇORBA

gözlerini kapat ve sen düşÃ¼n
benim yerime O dağları
nasılsa yolu yoktu hayalimde
bir nehir akrar hiç durmazdı

Bir küçük eve vardı tepesınde eteğınde
Tahta bir masa vardı, bahçesinde üzerinde
iki çorba vardı, sıcak sıcak içmesende
Kız inan ki vallah ben yaşardım hep seninle

Ne bilen, ne gören, ne duyan
duysa da farketmez inan
ha bir an, ha ömür
sürsede böyle

your eyes are closed and your thinking
of my place thats in the mountains
There is no path in my dreams
a river that never stops flowing

There is one small house
one wooden table at the end of the garden
two bowls of soups, its hot, hot dont drink
the girl really believes where i stay is with you

what do you know, what did you see, what did you hear
it doesnt matter what you hear or believe
one life experience
its going like this

I found this song very hard to translate as it doesnt make much sense in english but can someone just see how i have done and make my corrections

Thanks
Laura
