You dont mind "freedom of murder" for Armenians though.

More than 35 defensless Turkish diplomats were murdered in several countries.

Thank god, Turkish Security finally - and very politely- persuaded the murderers that it was not nice...

Who says that and what is it got to do with chanting "You are all Armenians, you are all bastards"? why are  you trying to change the subject?

Remember Turks displaying protest signs "We are all Armenians", after Hrant Dink´s murder.

This is country where "freedom of speech" resides.

If you call "You are all Armenians, you are all bastards" freedom of speech, what is the hate crime then?

Are we all supposed to smile at racist people and think it is ´freedom of speech´ ? {#emotions_dlg.you_crazy}

There is absolutely no reason for any Armenian, Kurdish or even Turkish citizen of TC to be scared of his ethnic origins, until and unless he decides to take up arms against State security forces, or work agaist general interests of Turkish Republic.

When they chose to be bad boys, they get what they deserve....

Not really..

Why do you think Si++ friend could not reveal his identity amongst the people who  try to insult ´Kurds as being Armenians´?

Think of this : You are in the UK. And some of them hate Irish because of IRA or some of them are racists and dont like Irish simply they think Irish are worthless.

And a british professor tells that ´actually, they are not Irish but they are worse than Irish, They are Turks´ And some racist Britains agrees with that. And some british army officers strip the dead people and look at their penises and say ´see they are circumsized, they got to be Turks´. Think of all these are accepted as normal. Some of these brits would screams their heads of with slogans like ´what a happt person who calls himself a Brit´, some of these brits would be chanting slogans in the middle of taksim as ´all of you are armenians, then all of you are bastards´,  Would you get up and say proudly ´you are a Turk´?

It is as racist as some skin heads calling Turks with insulting names in the EU.

When I was in Germany, no group of skinheads (unless they were a group of min. 1 dared insult any single Turk.

Nowadays 10 skinheads are no longer enough for broad daylight insults. They prefer to burn homes of defensless wives and kids at night.

Lets do not change the subject

Racists are the same. There is no difference between a Turkish racist who thinks that calling people as Armenians is an insult and a petty German/Italian/French racist.

No surprises!

I was trying to point out to the same fact in this thread:

http://www.turkishclass.com/forumTitle_48208

I have personally met one of them. I used to know this guy as a Kurd (who used to say he is one). Then years later he confessed that his mother was actually Armenian.

It´s good to know their real identities.

You should have asked why he did not reveal his identity.

But we all know the anser..

You should have thought ´why a person gets scared to tell who he is´ or what sort of circumstances/environment force these people to not reveal who they are.

And think, if you have contributed anything -when you call people Armenian as an insult, or when that racist professor calls Kurds as Armenians as an insult- for that type of environment yourselves.

Racism or not, most of the names on the Professor´s list were actually killed figting against legal armed forces of Turkish Republic. I owe them no respect.

Those who are still alive can always sue the Professor.

Lets get it clear: There is no question if it is ´racism or not´. ´It is racism to think that being an Armenian is an Insult´. That is stop .. That is full stop.  It is as racist as some skin heads calling Turks with insulting names in the EU. It does not matter the person who says those words, happens to be a professor or not or it does not matter these people got killed or not..

Racism has no place in a modern society. That is full stop..

Believe it or not !

http://www.turkishnews.com/tr/content/2013/05/07/kurt-bilinen-ermeniler/

He he..

When a professor ´accuse´ the Kurds being Armenians/think that being an Armenian is an insult and get away with this utter racism, his followers would accuse the others ´being Armenians or being not a Turk´ and think it is not racism. ´Kilavuzu karga olanin misali´

Then, they would defend themselves: ´But I am not a racist. Because I have Kurdish  friends´ blah blah.

My professor at the uni was a short man but his thinking was very sharp. He held a lecture about linguistic oppositions and explained us how oppositions are always based on the context where they appear. What was especially interesting was his view about continua between strong plus and strong minus words.

Some words like democracy, equality (or kemalism in the Turkish society) are always used in positive contexts and it would be very stupid for a politician to challenge the positive load of these words. Instead, these words are given new meanings. Thus, serious effort is put in explaining Islamic concept of democracy or equality or the religious devotion of Atatürk so that people with different ideas do not have to question the positive color of the word itself.

Racism has been a strong minus word. No politician admits to be a racist, and the word has been replaced with neologisms such nationalist or immigration critic which are then filled with a load of carbage. European populists try to clean the word racism from its historical burden, though, and make it more acceptable. They have succeeded to some degree and this is a worrying tendency because if you change the position of a word in the continuum between minus and plus you have really affected the thinking of masses.

I am not sure anybody´s aim is making the word racism more acceptable.. But I have a clear idea about what constitutes the racism. Unfortunately, when you look at some of my own country´s people, they dont seem to care that much or they dont realize how unacceptably incorrect they sound to the rest of the world. There is a whole a few generations out there, lived with ´changed  position of  the word racism or nationalism´ for so long.(The nationalism  itself, glorifying a nation, always a measurement which means there is someone out there less valuable. ) They think that is the normality.

I think the change takes time.
