yarın zorundayım gitmek hastane..
tomorrow i have to go to hostpial.

Nearly correct.

Yarın hastane ye(=to) gitmek zorundayım.

hehe so close.. i didn't see you posted a message.. why does it become hastaneye? i thought mek/mak means 'to'

"ye" means "to"... because u r going "to" the hospital. it is the dative, which expresses direction towards something. also notice the vowel harmony.

ahh i get it 2 vowels have come together.. so do 'ya' mean to aswell?

Ohhh help me... I'm new to learing Turkish and I'm stuck.

DROPPING A VOWEL...

example ---- MY CAR
suffix for my is ... -im
car is ... araba

vowel harmony rules will change -im to -ım but word cannot be arabaım.... this I understand because you cannot have 2 vowels together.

Im just a little confused as to which vowel I should drop and why...

I have read the notes on here regarding this.... but I'm still a little confused....

Can anyone please enlighten me... It's making me nuts.

çok teşekkür ederim

JOANNE
X :-S

Im new to this too but maybe i can help me and help you at the same time im still learning this too hehe in vowel harmony rules 2 vowels can never come together..

car = araba
my car = arabam soo..
arabaim is incorrect because 2 vowels have come together! so you would drop the i and it becomes 'arabam'

but in some cases when 2 vowels come together you sometimes put 'y' eg:
zorunda - have
zorundayım - i have

maybe someone can explain it better im not good at explaining
im not 100% sure though so can anyone please correct me..

Yarın hastaneye gitmek zorundayım.

From gramatical point of view absolutely correct, just dont forget to pay attention to the structure of the sentence, the word order etc.

Im a gemini and the description for this is...

Gemini (Latin for twins) is one of the constellations of the zodiac. It is part of the winter sky, lying between Taurus to the west and the dim Cancer to the east, with Auriga and the near-invisible Lynx to the north and Monoceros and Canis Minor to the south. The Gemini program is named for it.

its goes on and on..

Just to comfort you: I'm 18 But I'm great friends with most of the 'older' members of this website. Which is logical as I'm nearly becoming old and turning 19 in 2 months I hope you'll still talk to me then

Wow you really hired a translater? people on this forum are more than happy to help here..

maybe you just thínk they are

But I agree.. if I were you I'd cancle him after a few translations. I understand you feel like you put people up with work if you ask them. But if someone replies you, they do it on a 'volunteer basis'. Plus: If I translate small t urkish messages to English, it's for me to practise Turkish. Some Turkish people here translate to practise their English.

The translations won't always be in perfect English, but they will be perfectly understandable. Your Turkish ones will be really fine and definitely good enough for personal communication.

Also, you might have some longer translations than the average. But you're not the first: on this website, they usually divide it into a few pieces.. someone does the first paragraph, someone else the second.. etc

hehe yeah maybe thats just my thoughts.. It is always great practise to translate texts! im sorry i cant do this text though it looks to big for me..
