Now that the year is almost over, I thought it is a good moment to do a kind of "survey" and ask you , who do you think was or were the most helpful members of 2006 in turkishclass who deserve one specıal 'thanks'?
It is time for you to express your gratefulness here!!.
I am so grateful to everyone who has EVER helped me here , I couldn't have made the progress I did wıth my turkısh without your help.
Special thanks to :

-Aslan2
-Derya
-Ayla
-Furkan
-Gizopy
-Canli
but for me the most helpful member durıng 2006 was :

" Caliptrix "
Yardımın için çok teşekkür ederim!!!
Really and stay here during 2007!!

A lot of people helped me but most grateful I am to Ayla for all her corrections of the many homework I posted (and at the speed of Mr. Gonzalez himself lol).

Ayla: çok teşekkürler!

I'm really grateful to anyone who has shared their experiences. It's so relieving to find other people who are in the same boat as me (raltionship-wise) and that we can help eachother and gain from one anothers experiences.
Also thanks fo anyone who has translated something from me. Hopefully I'll be able to return the favour to newbies in the future.

i think i felt here like home, everyone has helped me here, and if im going to say names i think the list will be quite long .

but i think the most effective help that i had recieved was from SLAVICA at the first days here i think she just showed me the way to study and to make progress so i wanted to say thanx so much to her and ofcourse for all of you.
i hope a happy new year for all.

For me, the most helpful member of 2006 was Erdinc - by far- with over 1000 posts this year, all concerning grammar and language. Agreeing with his general points of view or not, is irrelevant to his contribution to this site. Also Mltm's posts were much of a help, for those who were studying grammar.

As for the help in translations, whenever I lay my eyes on a request, the names of the ones to translate are either Ayla or Derya. So, I guess they deserve our gratitude most.

(For the new members, the help is probably coming from other sources. But if we wanna talk about the whole 2006 in TC, then we have to count the contribution of old members who may not be around much anymore)

I have been a member of this site for about a year now and wanted to thank all the ‘old’ classmates here who have made me laugh, cry and supported me through good and bad. I never met such wonderful group of people anywhere, let alone on a website, before. Some of that “wonderful” feeling has been absent from this site in recent months, but I have made TRUE friends through this site, so it always has a place in my heart.

Have a wonderful New Year everyone and hope all your wishes come true in 2007

Thanks Dilara,
We here are classmate ,we learn from eachother, and offer the help if we can

İ don't think i can add much too,it is thanks to all the member which is making this site such a wonderfull site

But i would like to add to the list Erdinç of course for his great help ,and unique style in explaining Türkçe.
Aslan 2,Caliptrix,qdemir,and my friend Gizopy who seems i became her destiny ..lol
Ayla,Derya,Dilara thanks arkadaşlar

İ don't want to forget anyone too,but just adding to the list. Scalpel
He is not arround much tho,his help in the language undestanding is very much appreciated.

Thanks for all who took the effort, and save the time to make me understand even a letter

And for who share a smile,or even a hot debate leading to a better understanding.

Thanks to you all guys, you all are stars

I forgot Erdinç! How could I? He has such an important place in this site! we all owe him so much and yes Canli he has one unique style to explain turkish grammar ( just like Aslan2 whose explanations are awesome too!)What a pity he is not here as much as we would like to!

Also my good friend "leameus" (you are so helpful to me really !!), "Uykusuz" and of course my great friend Anil although he is not here anymore but he taught me a lot about turkish grammar and culture so if you ever read this, a big "Thank you" goes stright to you!

Thank you for your words Canli !! (I am a bit emotional today!!)...
I found here one unique place and group of people , NO SITE I have ever been a member of can be compared to this...PLEASE let's keep it friendly
Greetings from Latin America! and HAPPY NEW YEAR 2007 !!

Thank you to everyone! A special thanks to Ayla who saved me from embarrassment in August with an e-mail, and who kindly translated my and Omer's very long posts. Aenigma, we've not met, but your assertiveness, intellect and wit inspire me. Robyn, your posts are so upbeat and informative! Kai, you are a marvel- I am in awe of your resilience, humor, and candor. Derya, Dilara, Cyrano, and every kind patient soul who encouraged me to 'stick with it'- I thank you!
I'm off to Turkey in just 14 hours! Everyone on this site has been so helpful personally in my study (albeit slow) of Turkish and Turkey.

Happy New Year!

True RAIN from what i hear is top nominee, but have only seen one post from him... too bad; it's my luck! BUT you're forgetting CANLI .. statistically, she broke all records in the the history of a forum! {i dont need to check} just check out her posts! and her motivating replies, even if she dont know the answer, she shows she cares. she's the top student here! and not to forget the lovely poems and delicious recipes so give it up to our sister CANLI!

my TOP nominees!

1- Ayla, HOW CAN YOU FORGET HER???? HOW?????
DO I NEED TO MENTION WHY? guess not!

2- CANLI- you all know her!

3- caliptrix for the video anthology/lyrics!

special honors:
4- mltm- for small translation- a specific one that means so much, yet also with grammar, etc.

5. erdinc: for being vey active {at certain point}

also, sorry for those whom i've neglected to mention or never met
im sure there are other great people too, yet this is the system

also, no need to mention some people the # of posts they have dont matter, but their effectiveness....and the INSOMNIAC's club! and the chatroom dwellers!

Hey guys,

Nobody mentioned anything about nur1! I think her presence here during the past few months is more than obvious so my top nomination goes for her!

Quoting arabianofelix:

Quoting CANLI:

Ohh,but Rain was really very helpful here to TC members, and he never turnes down any translation request for anyone, and when ever he can,he explain about the grammars too.
Maybe, yes he has his own way,and arguments with lots of people.
But it is still his right to say that he was very helful to people who asked for translation, and for any question you ask,he answer you.
So thanks to him too,and wish him luck in what ever he does.

5. erdinc: for being vey active {at certain point}

also, sorry for those whom i've neglected to mention or never met
im sure there are other great people too, yet this is the system

also, no need to mention some people the # of posts they have dont matter, but their effectiveness....and the INSOMNIAC's club! and the chatroom dwellers!

May Allah Bless you All!!!
Peace out!

Actually hun I did put Canli, I just didn't write it in capitals ....but you obviously didn't read my post

So here it is again in capitals: CANLI

Satisfied hun? lol

Sorry don't mean to butt in but can you help me with the spanish because I am trying to remember and learn from what I already know. (I am learning Turkish too so you have to give me a break if it is wrong, which it probably will be )

Is your message saying something like:

Thank you for your kind words, I hope that you keep on progressing and do not lose interest because Turkish is difficult, but with great dedication one day we will be able to speak in Turkish.
I hope you have a happy christmas with your dear family.

It would be great if you could correct me and explain it.

Many thanks

Gracias Dilara ...I have been practising a few weeks now but I lived in Costa Del Sol for a month when I was younger and we was in a remote area where hardly anyone spoke english so I guess that helped and it sure started me with the interest
