When we add comments to columnists or essays I see our avatar is included. I also notice some people have avatars that are different to the selection offered on this site. Is there a way of adding your own avatar, or is this only available to a select few? Smile

Custom avatars are currently only available to a select few We will probably extend the avatar selections but I don´t think there will be custom avatars in the near term.

I have bought a new ~51cm wide monitor and the pages are displayed in the center as  ~24cm wide only.

Wikipedia for example nicely fills all the screen width.

Wouldn´t it possible here?

Keeping the page width constant makes it technically simpler to work on the site. I think we will be keeping the width constant to not overcomplicate the page design of all the different sections we have. At least until there is a full-time design person working on the site We don´t use a layout that is too wide to be compatible with the most common screen resolutions used today.

This new year wallpaper will be up for just a few days. We will remove it probably on the 3rd.

It was time. I hope who ever else still smokes can stop too.
