Quoting acute

Si+  I would like to say I enjoy your posts. They are informative and interesting. I am acute(ly) aware that these posts are not necessarily your own personal opinions. You are posting information and articles written in public media about subjects that have been developed from the mindset of Turks. Not always! See below. I would like to say thank you for all your posts you have been a good contributor to this forum.

I have provided the source for the post which started "so-called" debate and now appears to be deleted by some admin??

The source for that post was an Armenian site actually and it was given in that post. And I added "so called" stuff because I don´t see it as Armenians and pro-Armenians here.

I wonder why it was deleted (which rule did it violate?).

Open question to the admin/moderator who has deleted my  post:

Is it against forum rules to call what they call "genocide" as "so called" genocide according to my personal view?

Is it against forum rules to post about "so called" genocide in this thread?

Then again what was the reason for deleting my post which was quoted from an Armenian site?

A little food for though si++.

Everytime you post anything on the Armenian Genocide or as you put it the "so-called" genocide you help their cause.  You give them the exposure and the publicity they want.  What they want is to have the most exposure and publicity that they can get.  So you are doing them a favore by posting about the subject, they are getting alot of free press because of you.

Now, you have a good day also!

That was my whole point actually  According to si the Dutch parlement is discussing this matter, but they are basically not. One party has tried to put this up for discussion and has failed. This issue was not in the news in Holland, so I didn´t even know about it. The only Dutch newspaper that printed about the try-out for discussion was a small newspaper connected to the small Dutch political (strict Christian) party that tried to open the debate. Si himself has brought this more under the attention of Dutch people than the actual "debate" itself did Si is irritating me so much with this issue, that I actually am starting to pick the Armenian side, just out of irritation.

Are you closely following what they discuss in Dutch parliament? One party has tried to put this up for discussion and has failed. This issue was not in the news in Holland, so I didn´t even know about it. That was quoted from an Armenian site. What if you don´t know about it? Does that mean it will not be discussed??The only Dutch newspaper that printed about the try-out for discussion was a small newspaper connected to the small Dutch political (strict Christian) party that tried to open the debate. Si himself has brought this more under the attention of Dutch people than the actual "debate" itself did Si is irritating me so much with this issue, that I actually am starting to pick the Armenian side, just out of irritation. I don´t mind! And that wouldn´t come as a surprise to me at all.

Not sure why/if the post was deleted.  I am just as confused as you.  Usually when a post is deleted the mod or admin who does it will send you a PM with an explanation.  I have made an inquiry with Admin...hopefully we´ll know something soon.

French president exploits Libya for his own electoral needs

Egemen Bagis, Turkey´s Europe Minister, accused the French president of exploiting Libya for his own electoral needs.

"A European leader began his election campaign by organising a meeting that led to a process of air strikes against Libya. He acted before a NATO decision, and his act was based on his subjective evaluation of a UN resolution," said Bagis.

Ataturk among world dictators wearing mustache

“Foreign Policy” magazine published a list of dictators wearing mustache. The founder of the Turkish Republic Mustafa Ataturk was also included in the list.

“The soaring mustache Ataturk wore as a young army captain was popular in the Ottoman era, modeled on the grooming style of Kaiser Wilhelm II, which reflected the influence of German culture on the Turkish intelligentsia of the period. But by the time Ataturk took office as the autocratic ruler of the new Republic of Turkey in 1923, his mustache had been pared back to a conservative bristle; as he guided Turkey toward economic and political liberalization in the years that followed he shaved it off entirely, as a symbolic example of Turkey leaving behind its Ottoman past in favor of a modern future,” the magazine reads.

Turkish mass media considered the publication an insult, as Hitler was also included in the list.
