Deli, you are one of the best turkish learner on this site. Your Turkish is great , believe me. Dont be discouraged by Acute´s inconsiderate words.  And keep up good work..you are near to be fluent in Turkish unlike others who are  preferring easy way [speaking  English].

You are amazing.

Smile

Thanks for your kind words tunci and harpoon , yes I have been on this site for seven years and yes I still have problems with the language but that person knows nothing about me ,my life my circumstances and in seven years of being on this site I have never felt this discouraged before, in my opinion if you have nothing nice to say dont say anything at all.

I am a slow learner is that any reason to make judgements about me, but I am still here everyday plodding away and I will conquer.

I dont know acute but I am sure he or she, as it dosent wish to show its gender cant be Turkish because I have only had positive remarks made from all the Turks on this forum ,which I must also say has reduced dramatically in the SEVEN years I have been on this site and I miss them , so I say come back turks you are greatly missed.

I never usually get involved with negative stuff on here but I needed to say my piece.

By the way acute, I wish you every success with your learning Turkish and lets hope you learn quicker than me

Deli please don´t be discouraged. As you said we have different circumstances I for one have been affected by illnesses over the last 10 years, which has weakened me in different ways.

So don´t let anyone upset you. Oh Good Luck to Acute . Life is far too short to start wars.

We have a saying in Turkish , " Görünen köy klavuz istemez " --> "The visible village requires no guide " in other words if you can see the village then you dont need a guide to go there.

in another words your talent, your determination and willingness in learning Turkish is visible. I ve been on this site since January , what I observed until now is that you are always help learners by translating e-t,t-e. and trying  complicated texts  bravely..your help to others  is undeniable.  On this site there is no room for discouragement. We all need to encourage eachother. I am sure acute is feeling regretful for his remarks. I am waiting him to apoligize you and others

Hi deli, can I add my voice to the Huuuuuge chorus of those encouraging you to keep going.

Acute: Deli was just trying to get a nice and polite translation so that her notice would have the greatest effect and not offend anyone. She was being thoguhtful. That is clear from the title "need to get it right." I am sure she could have written something herself, with her level of Turkish, but wanted it to be superb. Which is what she got from the 2 translators.

I wish that Turks writing official documents in English would just check with native speakers too. The Sigortacılık Daire of TC Hazine has just published a report on life insurance in Turkey that spells the word "foreign" three different ways on one page! They needed to be like Deli and check

actually bydanad I was neither embarrassed nor was I looking for any additional comments from you. But you seem to find the need to continue to bash and a need to validate who you are on this site. Basically you can go piss up someone else´s tree. I did not add any further comments because I did not want this to continue into something it should not of become. But you just did that a second time. I only said in the beginning I was shocked that deli needed help on a simple sentence and now I understand why. I did not bash her nor did I try to. It was just a comment that being such a long standing member on here to ask for help on a simple sentence, was rather shocking to me and I wondered if I would ever be able to get to any reasonable level of turkish in a shorter time. Seven years learning seemed rather a long time to not be able to put a few words together or trust her level of turkish. By the way is this how you validate yourself on here by making derogatory remarks? No wonder you have had 3 different names old man. Now go play some bocci ball or something  and leave this be you´ve had your few minutes of famous fence sitting.

There is no need to argue more. Everybody made his/her point. There is only one fact. Learning a language is not easy and it can take some time. This shouldn´t make you scare. After all these years sometimes I feel my English really sucks. And while I am translating texts I look at dictionary many times. Everybody should keep going on. We are here to help you.

Deli´s score is not high when compared to tunci´s! She posted 5345 posts in a period of seven years and tunci 2444 in a period of eleven months or so..this means tunci will make it (inşallah) 17200 in 2017 and it will be at least 3 times more than deli´s, and we will be right if we think tunci spends at least half of his life infront of the screen of his tired laptop {#emotions_dlg.lol}

After Tunci had come, I requested my retirement from Turkish Class. I thought I was fast but then I realised it was a turtle´s speed when it was compared with Tunci´s. Now I do this translating thing as a hobby

No wonder my ears were ringing like there is no tomorrow.. You guys [Gök and Scalpel ]thanks for your kind thoughts but I am neither good nor faster than anyone. I am someone who is trying to serve Turkish. [note :Scalpel benle dalga geçmeyi sever.. ]

btw Deli listen, You are such a clever girl and keep on good work.

My teacher at high school used to say ; Learning a language is like an ocean, it never ends.

Not all Turks really know the whole Turkish language. Even we,Turks is learning new words and things in Turkish.
