"okumak" has a second meaning: to have education, to attend a school...

it is not -tan , -ten . It is -dan,-den [ablative case marking = from ]

okumaktan --> okumak [to read, reading] + dan [ "d" changes into "t" because of "k"]

from reading = okumaktan  or  from studying [at school]

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saatlerdir kitap okumaktan gözlerim ağrıdı.

My eyes hurt from reading for hours.

 1. Muayene ücreti = Check-up price

2. YTL = Yeni Türk Lirası = New Turkish Lira

PS: We are using TL now.
