yes, it's definitely not maturity they are talking about. but maturity is not a value that is in demand these days. we are homo sapiens (in latin this means "wise human") and we have a lot of potential but we're still descendents of monkeys and unless people make conscious effort to use their intelligence and turn it into wisdom and maturity, they will remain on the animal level (which is directed by the sex drive among other things). I think people here are trying to explain the 'tendency' meaning the animal instinct and that's the only common trait for all males or females. personal choices are determined by the individual choice of using one's intelligence and wisdom to create something great and transcendental. our choices are heavily influenced by the culture we live in and on top of the fact that men mature later then women, they are also encouraged by the culture to follow their animal instincts while women are discouraged and taught that they are the sex OBJECTS (speaking of the sexist, patriarchal world we live in).
