Quoting teaschip: I find it ironic you shall cast the first stones, when you have never been to America. We have 10 million immigrants in our country today, what for? Because were a horrible country, I think not. Unless you have been to the U.S. maybe your watching to much tv. |
I have been to America, I have been with my American friends all weekend. I did not say, if you are referring to me, that I say America is a horrible country - I just dont like certain things about it, same as I dont like certain things about the UK and they are physical things - shopping centres, fast food chains, the decline of our regional towns, etc etc not the people.

Your welcome, Rick. Even though your comments aren't backed up with factual statistical research. That is why it is an opinion and everyone is entitled to their own. We can agree to disagree. No harm done.

I can't agree more. But I have to say that I find/feel Greeks more close to Turks. Maybe that is because we spent hundreds of years together and our cultures are so mixed up that both parties cannot be sure of a cultural thing (tradition, humor, you name it.. ) if it is 100% Greek or Turk.
I have many Greek friends, when we are together, making jokes, it is so specific that only we can understand and laugh to death, while usually other people with us are observing us and thinking "What the Hell is so funny about it they are laughing like that!!"
And the arguments, we can argue about anything and in the extreme such silly things that no one can find any point
What about the things both parties are proud of?
For instance, Lets talk about coffee?
A typical conversation with a Greek friend:
-Lets make Turkish coffee man, I am so drunk!
-- You mean Greek coffee!?
-Whatever! Let’s make it.
Same conversation can also be observed for Raki/Ouzo:
--What will you guys serving with BBQ Party?
-Ouzo man, Ouzo! We got original label from Greece
-You mean Raki man; it is not Ouzo but Raki you know?
-Whatever! Are you coming or not!
And the list goes on and goes on...
