He made a comparison with the Armenian genocide. There had been no such thing because otherwise there would be no Armenians left he said. Im not debating whether there has been one or not, because I really have no idea, as long as the grief is acknowledged. I found it a denial of the scars of WWI and WWII to say such a thing :-S

And this shows your inadequacy of English, because that is not how one would say it in English. I think we would say 'to bother someone'. Not really to stand in ones sunlight. Actually, maybe in edebiyat or something we would say that. But in generally that sentence means All I ask from you is, dont bother me. Are you that shiny then?
