I had 'Teach Yourself Turksih' as a Christmas Present. I am finding it very good. The exercises are a great help. Is there a follow on book to it?

Did you both have a good understanding afer reading this book? I know a lot of Tükçe words already, It's just learning to put them all together now.

One day, I too hope to be able to help in this way. I sit and learn every day with my Turkish books, also learn on here.

It must be wonderful when everything clicks into place and you can help so much.

Quoting freshman:

VE BİTMEK TÜKENMEYEN ÜMİTLER IŞIĞINDA SORMADAN DA DURAMIYOR DELİ YÜREK
Su olsam, ateş olsam,
Göklerdeki güneş olsam,
Konuşmasam,
taş olsam
Yine de oynar misin benimle... ?

Sus olsam, kusur olsam,
Ağızdaki küfür olsam,
Doğuştan esir olsam,
Yine de oynar misin benimle... ?

Sayılmasam, kaç olsam,
Topraktaki güç olsam,
Aptal gibi suç olsam
Yine de oynar misin benimle... ?

Can we also have this in English please Freshman, so that learners can understand.
Thank you

Can I have some help with the following translation please.

Thank you in advance

Sorry that I have not been in touch. You would not believe how busy that I have been this week! It will be Christmas day on Sunday, and I have had so much to do to prepare for it. I am looking forward to a very early night this evening, as I have just had four nights out in a row, all Christmas parties. I know this is not an excuse as a simple text message only takes a minute. I will call you or text you later. I am at work now.

How is your new job going? how many days do you work?

This is very true Boop, but what I am saying is, that you can chat to someone of your own free will, but find that they change very quickly. Not everyone is like that I understand, and women can be just as bad as men. I was just trying to point out that it is not all hearts and roses, there is a bad side to it.

Quoting Boop:

Is it possible to fall in love without seeing?.....mmmmm well - I think it can happen - you can become infatuated with someone quite quickly, which I suppose is a kind of love. Definition of 'love' is different for everyone. You have to hope that the person you are in contact with is honest and sincere. If this is the case then I believe you can get to know someone's character probably better (or certainly quicker) than you do in 'normal' face to face relationships. Webcams help of course!
A big 'buzz' is the thought that without the computer you would probably never have met - this adds another dimension - intensifying feelings. Powerful stuff. The test is the subsequent face to face meeting - now that could be a different story!

I think that internet relationships are not all that they are cracked up to be! A lot of them are just about sex. You can so easily get sucked in by the charm. The person gains your trust, and has you thinking that you are the only girl in the world.......you then find out that there are a string of others.

I would be very wary of any online relationships now. It is all to easy to be more open than you would, if meeting face to face. I once said to someone online 'don't ask me questions like that! You wouldn't ask me that if you had just met me in person' Just because they are hiding behind a computer, they think that they can say anything!

As for web cam, don't even go there! I think I will put mine in the bin.

Just be careful girls, as there are a lot of sharks about
