It appears incidents of authority abuse are increasing world wide. Anytime you have a situation where someone is in a position of power, and someone who challenges them, things happen.

I'm posting these because I'm aware of them, seeing as I live in the US. Please do not take this as a show of anti-Western-ism.

You have a point there...but we sure are getting some nice songs here.... If nothing else the songs help work through the whole thing. I think that's why they are so popular.

Why would anyone give a gift for a 'divorced anniversary'?

Ofcourse you should do whatever you think is good, but to me it sounds rather low to make a CD to show how much you are over him.

I agree with Catwoman, the best way to show you are over him, is to forget.

story in turkish

What type of publication is this? When I go to a listing of Turkish Press:

http://www.byegm.gov.tr/TURKBASINI/turkishpress/newspaper.htm

It's not there. There is nothing on any other news source on it either that I can find....and I look at a LOT of international news sources.

This is one The Thrill is gone:

http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=lqAuuIDU2sw

The thrill is gone
The thrill is gone away
The thrill is gone baby
The thrill is gone away
You know you done me wrong baby
And youll be sorry someday

The thrill is gone
Its gone away from me
The thrill is gone baby
The thrill is gone away from me
Although, Ill still live on
But so lonely Ill be

The thrill is gone
Its gone away for good
The thrill is gone baby
Its gone away for good
Someday I know Ill be open armed baby
Just like I know a good man should

You know Im free, free now baby
Im free from your spell
Oh Im free, free, free now
Im free from your spell
And now that its all over
All I can do is wish you well

Quoting catwoman:

Aren't you offending Turkish people, by the way, by comparing them to bulls???

The bull is a noble animal.....but then, I didn't compare Turkish people to bulls...I compared your actions to someone who waves a red flag in front of a bull....there is a difference.

Excuse me, but....:-S Just a little reminder:

Criticism of Ataturk is like holding a red flag in front of a bull....and you must know that. Without Ataturk there would be no Turkey. Including his name in relationship with Stalin or Hitler is insensitive to the extreme, or it is provocative. What on earth are you trying to do here?

9. Avoid personal disputes and arguments. Personal correspondence postings should be kept at a minimum. Personal attacks or insults directed towards other users will not be tolerated. Basically if you don't have anything nice to say then just don't say it all. If somebody posts an insulting comment do not reply to it. It will only result in starting a flame-war. Instead, send a Private Message to one of the forum moderators and they will take care of it.
10. Any discussion on politics or religion and religious matters is strictly prohibited.

As an administrator Catwoman, it seems you should be particularly sensitive to these matters, instead of fanning the flames.
In looking at this thread (and others), it appears you are injecting religious and political matters to the conversation.

My only comment of course is to reference Bush in the same context as Hitler and Stalin. Just thought it was a little extreme.

Yes, I agree. If you're adding milder nationalists you should definitely add Ataturk before Bush.

Thread: I hate a belly dance

Badiadancer, there is another aspect of dance that has not been touched on in this discussion. That type is the one where the dancer is entranced and the dance is a vehicle for transformation to another state of being. Although now Flamenco is now seen as a spectator art, real Flamenco was/is used as a cathartic to work through emotions or spiritual states. If one had a pain, they would sing or dance through the pain. The audience is irrelevant, they are only allowed to watch. Even then, they tend to pollute the experience with the distraction of their presence.

Quoting Badiabdancer74:

YES YES YES! Perfectly said Canli. I fall asleep watching the "look at all the weird things my body can do" dancers. Expression is so important. Happy and playful are the expressions I like to see in a belly dancer. Like Lucy, a Beledi style dancer. My question is "How do you NOT smile when you hear the music!" I had to try not to smile when I was mocking the Turkish bellydancers in my videos.(Asena being the worst in expression in my opinion... 'bored super-model trying to dance')The Passion for the music!!! Expressing the music through the dance. Dancing is fun, if it isn't fun...if you are not in love with the music don't do it!

I think the problem with quiting smoking is it is a combination of many habits. There is the smoke to play with. Blow it this way, make rings out of it. There are many ways to hold it that give you something to do with your hands. Then there is the general oral gratification.
I really don't think it's just the nicotine. The Indians added herbs to the tobacco, resulting in a milder smoke....and I don't mean illegal herbs. They added colts foot, chicory and some other things I don't remember now.

Hmmm...you mean....like when communications is censored by those in charge? :-S

Quoting catwoman:

I think this is well said . I just would like to add that a certain level of brainwashing by media and government does influence a person's ideas, wouldn't you agree?
