Well..There are some suffixes that they use in turkish instead of can and could..

But there are also some "words" as well as those "suffixes" i told ya about..

About the suffixes, we can say (-ebilmek) for can , and (-ebildi) for could..

But they´re different for each personal pronoun..like its (-ebildi ) for he (-which is O in turkish-)

and (-ebilirim) for I.. There are some changes in the "e" letter at the beginning of (-ebilmek) and (-ebildi) due to the letter before whether that is a "thick"  vowel or a "thin" one.

More easily, well, we´re coming straight to the point out of these suffix stuff,

that is "Yapabilmek" for CAN and  "Yapabildi" for COULD

 ..Even though there are words available for both can and could in turkish instead of some suffixes as well, they are changed according to the personal pronoun comes before it...

Nifrtity your English is obviously quite good but you would never be mistaken for a native - sorry

You can never speak perfect turkish but this isnt a reason not to try

The very best of luck - we would all like to - but there´s not much hope of being ´perfect´ unless you are born Turkish - which would be a great help towards your goal but not a foregone conclusion as not even all Turks speak perfect Turkish!
