Dehumanize

Unfortunately, you are right. Dehumanization of all groups is used to ostracize them and justify mistreatment. Jokes about women or Polish people are daily bread.

...do you realize we agree on something?

I would agree with that too. I think the media should shoulder the blame for a lot of it. You mention Polish people CW and in the UK at the moment they have received some negative press, for example:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-510873/Polish-migrants-living-Britain-claiming-21m-child-benefits-children-left-behind.html

The Daily Mail is often sensationalist and it's articles like this that can influence certain sections of the population. It's my view that the tax payers' money is not safe in the hands of the Government and I don't blame anyone for claiming something they are able to claim. So it seems, it is the government and the media that breed ill feeling toward different groups of people at one time or another and this can escalate in times of economic crisis.

Quoting thehandsom:

Has anybody thought that what could be done with the money which is being spent on building churches and mosques?
Africa, famine, education...?

I think you have a valid point there. Here in the UK there are many places of worship that aren't used to their full capacity and some are even converted for other uses. It would make sense for communities to join together and perhaps change some of the surplus buildings into community centres for people of all/no faith . . . to meet/participate in constructive activities.

A place of worship doesn't have to be elaborate either.

And on a lighter note Mr Handsom, have you ever thought of what could be done with the money which is being spent on the old booze? he he he

We can all be "picky" and "one sided" when we want to be. And your mentioning it is the slippery slope to personal accusation rather than comment about the topic.

About the Fabian Society

'The Fabian Society has played a central role for more than a century in the development of political ideas and public policy on the left of centre. Analysing the key challenges facing the UK and the rest of the industrialised world in a changing society and global economy, the society's programme aims to explore the political ideas and the policy reforms which will define progressive politics in the new century.

The society is unique among think-tanks in being a democratically-constituted membership organisation. It is affiliated to the Labour Party but is editorially and organisationally independent. Through its publications, seminars and conferences, the society provides an arena for open-minded public debate. '

CHAV

It seems UK leftist academics believe the white working class are victims of class hatred when labelled 'Chavs'.

http://fabians.org.uk/publications/extracts/chav-offensive

For those who don't know what/who 'chav' refers to:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chav

Nothing to do with this article: I can't remember where I read it, but recently I read that "Class Boundaries" in the UK are becoming fuzzy and more and more people are being categorised by religion rather than class.

Quoting Rocco Siffredi:

how do you take the right of making shits in here? doesn't your husband read your pukings to his country, religion, and identity in this site? very interessante! it's absurd, ain't it? if i were your husband, i'd eject you from my entire life really. how does he still put up with you?

i think you have no achievements in your life and you only have been an admin of this site by bilking your husband. otherwise those things could not have been happened truly. besies, you owe a lot of things to your husband.

kisses.

ps: keep in mind, islam and christianity are the same shits. let the people live their own life and religions. why you have so many complexes? i don't know. grazie.

Rocco, you left the few grey cells you have in your backside again. Stop being such a prat and go and wash your mouth out with soapy water.

I just realised where I've seen you before:

Quoting Daydreamer:

So, you think that only China is reprehensible for its crimes or Arabs too? Or, do you think that one justifies the other?

"Daydreamer, I think the point here is the same as of anything else - sharing information."
We are just sharing information..
As catwoman is saying here : http://www.turkishclass.com/forumTitle_11_31431_14

Of course one doesn't justify the other DD. Again this is an old issue and it's quite insulting that you would think someone would post such an article for that reason. It's sometimes useful to bring everyone back to reality and illustrate how unattractive and /or horrific behaviour permeates society throughout the world. The article about British soldiers in Iraq for example, it's an awful thing and nothing to do with the religion of the soldiers, but it's dreadful just the same. I wonder what those actions were done in the name of? Not peace I hope.

The sad thing is you know people don't cite these incidents as a "one justifies the other" exercise.

Catwoman is asking the question "What's wrong with Islam?" . . . "I ask What's wrong with the world today that we are all at each others' throats and don't let issues drop?" Geezz!

OK I'm letting it drop

What does "Geeezz!" mean? I have a feeling it is something quite important because of the "!".
