My post perfectly answers your question. PM me if you need more information.

 OK, I understand your comment.

How was the content of her post different to similar comments already made by others on that thread?  Is this a case of selective censorship?

Seems someone threw their toys out of their pram and had the post deleted.

I don´t feel the need to pm you as any explanation you have would not reveal any offensiveness by Alameda, so would be safe for the eyes of members.

I am sure you´re not that against censorship Peacetrain, so you should be least worried. You know many other witty posts used to be written in this forum, but they didn´t make you laugh so had to be removed.

 None of your personal remarks answers my question,  What happened to Alameda´s post and why was it removed?

Yes, well said Doudi!

 Yes, well said Doudi.  Of course there are also web sites that censor their members, thus influencing the course a thread takes, which in turn influences the readers of the threads.

btw Catwoman, where did Alameda´s post disappear to?  It was on page 10 of the thread "Why criticism of Islam is a necessity".  It wasn´t insulting or disrespectful, but very witty

Perhaps the next step will be to ban skirts that are above the knees together with pointed high-heels.

 I´m surprised you got through passport control, looking like that {#lang_emotions_bigsmile}

I´ve only just returned after 3 weeks away.  Does this mean I am too late to join?  Will there be a repeat of the 10 week lessons after this round finishes?

Thanks.

The date on my flight tickets . . . I thought 23rd was Thursday but WEDNESDAY jumped out at me when I went to check my flight times, and I´ve been running round like a headless chicken for the rest of the day. No sleep for me tonight.

You´re absolutely right, correction is very important when learning a language. However, the way it is done is also important and IMO a pm would have been more appropriate in this instance. It would have helped Yilgun in the future. The thread isn´t on the translation forum.

It´s nothing but the pot calling the kettle black. You could have informed LIR about how you interpreted her post via PM too instead of provoking a five-page pointless discussion...Don´t preach what you don´t follow yourself...

This answer was also predictable, a TC classic for some. Everyone has a choice as to whether they want to engage in a pointless discussion. The minute you decide to engage in a discussion it ceases to be pointless for you (´you´ in general terms). I think I´m right in saying that LIR hasn´t posted about the topic of the thread, but then that´s her right.

And hey, we all preach what we don´t follow at one time or other.

Final resort in a TC discussion . . .accuse someone of:

* being a pot calling the kettle black
* hypocrisy
* preaching about something they are also guilty of

Btw, couldn´t you have told me all that in a pm?

The licence/license issue doesn´t bother me, or any other US English use. I try not to use US English but I would never correct anyone else (apart from children in school of course LIR)for using it. I mentioned it only because I was surprised LIR hadn´t spotted it and picked Yilgun up on that too in other words I was having a ´dig´ at LIR).

DD you are entitled to your opinion and your view didn´t surprise me in the least.

And before LIR is driven back to the bar . . .

My driving is much better when I´m alone in the car. I talk too much when there´s someone else in the car and that affects my concentration. My navigation skills are 100% better when I am alone too. For some reason, when I have a passenger I defer to them for directions . . . very odd I know.

As I said the translation forum is a different matter.

No, she wasn´t harsh. I never said she was, but I do think she was making fun and the tone was patronising.

Well I disagree and I certainly think you have built it into something bigger than it ever needed to be.

As I said, you´re entitled to your opinion. No problem.
