Quoting qdemir: What some remarks connote is an intense hatred. what might she have done to deserve those snide remarks about her personality? |
Hello again! Will we have some more articles about Polish culture at this occasion as well? Even though that's none of your business, the remarks are not about mltm's personality, but my OPINION about her OPINIONS. Hatred?! Phew! As they say, "hungry man has bread on his mind". Interestingly, hatred never came to MY mind.

Hi catwoman! You mustn't have noticed that I had deleted my above post because of the fact that after I had posted it I remembered the fact which is when you couldn't come up with a better argument you target people's personalities instead of their opinions, and I just didn't want to get into such a dog fight with you again. You might not know that many people on here avoid relpying your posts because of the same reason. Once, 'she likes the sound of her voice' said someone about you. Don't you ever think of behaving as an arbitrator rather than behaving arbitrarily. You are a moderator on here. Remember!

Quoting Deli_kizin: Just wanted to point out that I don't agree with that point of yours Catwoman, Libralady's ideas are based upon what she knows about British women/girls, not upon her idea that a woman is guilty when she gets raped. Because being raped has nothing to do with demand and supply. It only lies in demand. |
Of course libralady didn't mean that rape is a woman's fault. I wanted to point out that this used to be the accepted belief, which goes along the same line of thought with its lighter version - which says that any undesirable, promiscuous sexual behavior is women's fault (degradingly stated that women are the "supply"). Not only men's morality, their promiscuity and sexual exploitations are completely ignored, but they are even justified!

I think you forgot again what you just remembered... Look who's talking about personally insulting others! Sadly, you couldn't come up with a better "argument" yourself.

Since I have nothing to do, I can try to write catwoman a few lines, but I think she is far more experienced in classifying people that do not think the way she thinks.
Most of my ideas and views in life are quite moderate and objective. When someone makes a generalization that "this kind of things only happen in Turkey, only Turkish resort workers are like this and that and that." It seems to me so superficial to think like that, then it means that it's in the genes of Turkish men and like saying as long as the world turns they will stay like that. Why would I accept this? If for you being nationalistic is opposing to that, it's ok for me. I tried to explain the underlying reasons for that immoralities, without knowing the reasons, how would you give a solution, your kind of ideas can only create hatred towards a group of people. Why do you get angry when we point out also the attitudes of the "poor" tourists, is not it also looking at the problem from another angle? But no, on the road of your holy "mission", you prefer that we stone these "animals". Then, all of a sudden, we will have a clear society.
You cannot tolerate any moderate ideas. I do not like these men, and I do not want awards be given to them, but it does not prevent me from questioning the reasons of their acts and immoralities becase people are not born immoral. According to you this is protecting and defending them. Then there would not be a science branch called sociology!?
How do you suppose to get supporters from the community you oppose and want to change, as you have so categorical, definite, harsh and even dogmatic ideas towards turkish and muslim society on a larger scale? Given that I'm one of the most liberal and least patriarchal girls living in Turkey, in my opinion you can never get any support from women that you aim to help. You expect people to change in an instant after telling them "you are all wrong and all the things you believe are wrong". I think you have a dream, a real "dream".

"She likes the sound of her own voice" is a common insult directed towards WOMEN who speak their mind and are intelligent enough to be able to articulate their opinions well. It's the defence of the weak who are out-debated and feel intimidated by them.
We are lucky this is a written discussion and not face to face as it is well-known that this is exactly the kind of reaction that causes a violent response from the weaker side!
I notice even YOU could not make a comment against Catwoman without quoting other's comments - for safety and security presumably. I don't think Catwoman will lose any sleep over your opinions

Quoting Elisa: Déjà -vu (déjà -lu, déjà -entendu..) stuff this is (where's my *yawn*-smiley ). Why start this discussion over and over again? I thought past threads clearly show everything had been said about it?
Just let it up to the people involved in those things. Far too many words have been wasted on this subject. |
You are sooo right Elisa - all this has been 'done to death' surely there is nothing new to debate/argue over?? and yes I know I don't have to read it - but it always ends in a 'catfight' which although in itself is quite entertaining it can lead to a lot of unneccessary bad feeling among members why does it have to get so 'over-heated' and unpleasantly personal

catwoman, what's happened to you? I can see a dramatic fall in your performance. Yesterday you replied me with the sentence 'I think you forgot again what you just remembered' only. As far as I have noticed today you needed to add the following sentence 'Look who's talking about personally insulting others!'. Couldn't you come up with a better reply yesterday?
