European Union and USA are on the same way. They have same values and standards. They have come from an unique culture, a whole culture. The people of Europe have same culture.
At the beginning, European Economic Community has been established between a few countries. Then European Economic Community has been formed again as European Union (EU).
Who owns EU?
The Contitution for EU?
England factor?
USA factor?
Russian factor?
Swiss and and Norvay factors?
New members?
The future of European Union?

All we have to do about EU is to wait...

They will all die out of old age in the next 50 years. Turks will inherit Germany and England will be divided between India and Pakistan.

For Turkey´s joining the EU, there should be a settleement in Cyprus.

On April 18 Mr Dervis Eroglu, who opposes reunification, was elected
President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and for all
practical purposes the long story reached its end. The island will
remain permanently divided along the current lines, although it may
be many years before other countries acknowledge that fact by
formally recognising the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

This fact will have far-reaching consequences, for it means that
Turkey will never join the EU. Without a settlement in Cyprus, the
Greek veto on Turkish membership is permanent -- but Greece´s
leverage over Turkey will vanish once Ankara abandons its quest to
join the EU.

There is no reason to believe that the present Turkish Government
would do anything to disturb the status quo in Cyprus. Perhaps no
Turkish Government ever will.

It is a very complicated issue, because it involves many crucial points. Firstly, ability of the EU as such to enlarge, secondly, understanding of European identity, thirdly, attitude of the EU citizens towards Turkey´s becoming a full member, fourthly, issue of Cyprus. In my opinion, Turkey has to become a full member, but it first Turkey will need to pass many obstacles.

"Avrupa Birliği" konusunda Türk romancı ve yazarlarından Tuna Kiremitçi´nin yorumu:

A Turkish novelist and author Tuna Kiremitçi´s comment on EU.

Yes, there is a continent which called Europe on the map.

But Europe is really an imagination, a burned out star´s fake twinkle.

Aslında 1995´ten beri Avrupa diye bir kıta bulunmamakta...

Actually there hasn´t been a continent called Europe since 1995...

yani Hollanda askerlerinin kıtanın orta yerindeki SREBRENİTSA Halkını Çetnik katillere teslim ettiğinden beri...

Since Holland soldiers have handed people of Srebrenitsa over Chetnik murderers...

First of all, the Dutch didn´t "deliver" the people to the enemy. The horrible thing that happened is that the UN troops didn´t intervene. The reason why is because they were outnumbered. The UN made a horrible miscalculation about what was REALLY going on, and send a handfull of guys there, to keep the peace against a fighting army. Men and women were send there with limited materials on a peace mission, when they were actually sent into a war.

Second of all, the massacre is the worst in EUROPE since WW2... I get so irritated by people who just seem to forget that tenthousands of people are dying in bigger massacres, but since it´s usually Africa nobody seems to care. For example, the estimates of people who got killed in Rwanda in the conflict between the Tutsi and Hutu is between half and one million people.

The fact that we like to make little continents and fabricated groups of countries makes us forget our humanity. Africa? Who cares, it´s not Europe, right? Oh... Palestine, how horrible... our Muslim brothers... but who in Turkey cares about what is happening in Birma?

´They didn´t prevent the drama´

Many analysts now place much of the blame for the genocide on the Dutch government. Fearing for the safety of its 450 soldiers stationed in the area, the Dutch government failed to order a UN-proposed air attack on Serb troops. The Dutch were easily overpowered and the massacre unfolded.

Thousands in Bosnia mourn at anniversary of Srebrenica massacre :
Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sunday marks 15 years since 8,000 Muslim men

I´m just saying what was said before, that the whole mission was totally carried out in a bad way. The Dutch soldiers there are traumatized as well, so to say that they "delivered" the people to the enemy is disrespecting those men and women. They thought they were doing something good with their lives, enforcing peace where it was needed. Instead they ended up in the middle of this massacre, totally unable to respond in the proper way because of a lack of support in material and manpower.

I don´t believe common currency, common foreign and defence policies are sustainable. I think the idae of taking strategic decisions in coordination with a supranational union is not realistic and profitable especially if the effecting power of Turkey is limited in that supranational union.

However the EU has a de facto facilitator role for politic reforms in Turkey and this role is important. Also if Spain and Sweden or Italy and Estonia, Roamia and Germany, France and UK etc. are able to take place in that organisation together, Turkey would have a seat in the table too. Turkey is not more foreign or inharmanious for the EU than these pairs are for each other.

In conclusion, i support the membership of Turkey to EU as long as the EU mainly remains as a union for free movement of persons, goods and services.

Hm, I think the common currency has up and down sides. Downside, you don´t have a national currency policy (basics economics, has to do with export and import, and changing exchange rates). However, trading with euro countries has become more attractive for "outsiders" since you don´t have to deal with tiny currencies and a dozen exchange rates. I think the main point that people need to remember is that the EU can never be a cultural alliance. Some people try to create this, with a flag and a song and everything, but it´s just a fabrication. As a economic alliance it makes sense, and can be very effective. But the governance of the EU is slow, and biased by cultural problems.

I think Euro has been a great success so far. I remember many Asian countries were kind of threatening UK by telling them they will stop investing, if UK rejects to join Euro. It is simply too easy to deal with one currency..

And yes EU economic alliance is the BASE of EU. EU together is a major player in the world. As far as the volumes are concerned, individual eu countries are not a match to those big cats like china usa japan etc.. EU will be getting more and more effective in coming years in my view..

I insist on my idea about EURO´s unsustainable structure. Look what Merkel says about that issue;

Merkel: The Euro Is At Risk, Could Have Global Consequences

German Chancellor Angela Merkel keeps on spooking investors. Speaking in the Bundestag Wednesday she says the euro is in danger, urging speedy action to stop market “extortion” and says the E.U. need a process for “orderly” insolvency of members.

The euro could work if it was just the stable, and honoust economies that took part in it. It´s to many countries with vague economic policies that joined the euro, which is hurting it right now

to buy oil, gas, gold, wheat you will have to buy dollars, not euro

euro is up because in other case all goods would be too expensive to buy comparing to dollars. it is just agreement between usa and eu. union uses dollars, but due to rate makes goods cheapper

Free trade or competitive economy is bulshit !

The trick is in keeping the oil trade in dollars or Euros...Any oil producing country who even considers selling her oil (or any other natural resource) in her own currency is bound to get into immediate trouble.

The current set up allows US to buy any commodity from the international market, only by printing as many dollars as necessary to cover the cost of needed commodity....if set up changes, such that each country can demand her own currency for what ever she produces, US will have to realize they have to produce more at home to offer the international market, to be able to continiue gulping half the world´s oil.

usa cannot offer anything, but army force. they dont have plants and fabrics on its territory. thus, they have only currency, which in fact is not usa currency. usa does not have currency at all. you cannot buy anything for euro, dollars only. thus, all negotiations between south america´s countries, russia and china for other currency in accounts are killing for usa.

usa does realize, but has nothing to offer besides paper with portraits and green colour. and how will you make all other world to buy dollars having state´s debt of trillions, of still having no control over all oil mines and almost no control over gas ?

I personally think it is a disgrace to continue keeping them in NATO. The only thing the Dutch managed to save in Srebrenitza was their own worthless lives.

They made mistakes, eh? Such mistakes are allowed only in Peter Sellers movies. They should have stood their ground and died, protecting the unarmed civilians they turned over to the Serbian butchers.

They preferred to live the rest of their lives in disgrace !

Wow... I guess you were there right? You would have thrown yourself in front of the bullets, saving nobody´s lives and robbing your family from their son/ daughter/ husband/ father/ etc. It´s so easy for you to talk about this, because you weren´t there. I have talked to veterans from there. You have NO idea about how it was. Your comments make me angry because you speak as if you know what the soldiers there experienced. You really don´t have a clue. It´s easy to talk like this, since you weren´t there, you weren´t put in their position, and you will never ever be in their position. You sit safely behind your computer, typing away like you are a brave soldier. Newsflash, it takes no courage to talk like this about people that you know nothing about. Have you any idea on how an army works? You follow the rules of your superior. The army is not a democracy. You don´t say "some guy asked for air support, but even though he didn´t fill in the correct forms for that support, I will just take this jet plane and go support him anyway"... You don´t say "no commander, I am going outside with my gun alone, I will not follow your orders" This is how an army works. I don´t blame the individual soldiers there. I blame the idiots generals who didn´t give the air-support that was repeatedly requested. I blame the heads of the NATO that didn´t get the seriousness of the circumstances, even after some Dutch soldiers were kidnapped. Yes, the NATO that Turkey is also a part of... where there any Turks there at the time? Nope. And it has nothing to do with the soldiers being Dutch or not. Have you written yet about the good things that Dutch soldiers have done over the years?

Do you think I blame the Turkish soldiers who bombed Kurdish targets, and also hit civilians? No, I blame the superiors who gave them that order. Do you think I blame the crazy kids that grab guns and start to fight in the mountains? No, I blame the people who recruit them. Sebrenica should never be forgotten, and it is important to see what went wrong, so that it will never happen again. What went wrong is not "Dutch"... what went wrong is not "soldiers following orders"... what went wrong is NATO and several armies being to keen on bureacracy, and totally losing grip on reality. The soldiers and their direct superiors had warned the people in the top many times that tensions were rising, and that something was going to happen. The message they got back? "Don´t mingle in it, you are there as an observer. Don´t use your gun unless you are directly targeted" (quoted from a soldier there)

First you say the Dutch army handed the people over... now you are saying they ran? Keep your story straight Alpha. If you want to insult me, please do it right. You´re ignorance of how an army works is scary. Blaming the soldiers instead of the people who gave the orders... great job!

By the way, there were around 600 Dutch people there at the time. A large proportion of that wasn´t soldiers, but medical staff. Some soldiers were taken away during patrols, leaving only 300 soldiers. Holland had 15 million people at the time. So it wasn´t "the Dutch population" that was there. And they weren´t even there as Dutch. They were there as an international peace-keeping force (which failed, yes), also in the name of Turkey, England, America, etc.. If you want to blame people who had no control over the situation, you might as well blame yourself. They were there in your name as well.

By the way... why are you bashing the Dutch army (who are doing a great job in Afghanistan now) and abusing the death of the people of Sebrenica, in a thread about Turkey entering the EU? We already went back to the real topic. With some articles stated before, most people on here already agreed that it was a fealure of both the Dutch government, the high forces in the army, and the American heads who didn´t want to provide the air-lifts. You are too eager to distract from the real topic, by abusing a massacre.

Alpha - don´t you know that a hired army is not a good army? If you fight for a cause, you´re bound to make a better soldier and you´re willing to sacrifice more than when you´re fighting because of a contract. The thing is nobody knew what the situation there had been. Troops sent to be observers, assisst stabilisation could not get involved just because they felt one side was not fair. Like Barba said - soldiers respect orders, they don´t act on their own or off symphaty. Plus, the Dutch (or any other nation there) were not personally involved in it. They came there to do a job, nobody wants to risk their life for a cause that´s not theirs. Remember that being a soldier is a job, not a calling.

Besides, the country that lost most there was Serbia, many Serbs died too, many slaughtered mercilessly by Bosniaks (?) - not only soldiers but women and children too. And once it was over, Serbs got robbed of their land, Kosovo, in spite of it being illegal in the eyes of international law. It´s easy to remember one side of the war and forget the other hurt too. Wars always hurt common people - these who do not call for war or declare it, but these that are thrown into it while the governments responsive are safe abroad...

A few of my friends were in the Balkans as soldiers on contracts. they said it was fun - constant parties with Bosniaks, lots of drinking, lamb and mutton barbeque and prostitutes. And they said some of the folks they met were mere maniacs and sadists. The war was not about lion attacking a flock of sheep, boths sides are as guilty of what happened, but nobody judges winners, right? Everybody´s bitching about Serbia, while I consider them to be deserving most compassion

Daydreamer, i dont understand what you are trying to defend here, despite hypcracy of Europe, many Europeans also ashamed the events in Srebrenitza and the war that has started by Cetnik racist Serbs. And the events in the Srebrenitza was an ethnic cleansing, it was in front of the eyes of Europe and UN. It was well-known that Cetniks would do a masscare in Srebrenitza at that time, that is why UN troops was there to defend civilian muslim population but they didnt move their finger when Cetnik army reached to Srebrenitza, there is more to come, they picked off the weapons of Bosnians, and they handed over Bosnians who were asking for sanctuary to Serb murderers, some requested back their weapons since they realised they would be given to Serbs, and it was refused, they even helped Serbian convoy when they were out of gas, and after all finished they celebrated masscare with Cetniks. Good paid soldiers right? They even did not give the weapons of Bosnians in order to create peace.

Now the truth is the hypocracy of Europe, when there was a legitimate defence of Bosnians against Cetniks, UN troops was always there to stop Bosnians, but in Srebrenitza they didnt move their finger. So now you can continue to bury your head under the sand, continue to try to justify Cetnik Serbs and UN. That should be so hurting i guess...

Armegon - I wasn´t trying to defend anyone, I just spoke out my opinion of these events. Racial and ethnical cleansing are horrenduous and never justified. I´m just against victimising one side of the war, even years after it´s over. I don´t think EU or UN should have intervened, apparently everybody (or at least Alpha) thinks they did no good there. But then, if they stayed out, Alpha would point out their indifference.

I don´t think there´s a working solution for wars, I don´t think EU, UN, Arab League or Martians United Front of Green Goo are capable of stopping a conflict or solving it in a way everybody is happy. People are people, nationalist and xenophobes are everywhere and money is still the ultimate desire. Money is power, human life means nothing. Sad but true.

And if you choose to believe Bosnians were a bunch of nice folks whom blood-hungry Serbs decided to wipe off the face of the earth for no reason, it´s your choice. I believe the guilt is on both sides and that both sides suffered.

Its not about Bosnians being nice folk or all Serbs being murderer. I think nobody said all Serbs are murderers, just go and search the sologans of Cetniks, you will realize why they had done this and what this war was about. Here it is told what happens in Europe, how they turn their face to hummanity when the victims were muslims.

It had nothing to do with Muslim or not... The Dutch don´t see Serbs or Bosnians as Muslims and Christians. From the perspective of most Dutch people, they were pretty much the same... Eastern Europeans. Christians are being slaughtered on a daily basis throughout the African continent. Do you know why nobody cares? Because it´s people fighting amongst their own people. For a long time, Europe saw this as in internal problem, in 1 country. Governments don´t like to step into foreigners internal problems.

This is a problem throughout history. It has nothing to do with being Muslims. Problem of Hitler, he killed outside of Germany. If he would have kept it inside his borders, nobody would have stopped him. Look at Pol Pot and the Red Khmer. Millions of people died, before anybody took notice. And how many foreign troops are there in Somalia now? Why isn´t Turkey helping their "Muslim brothers" over there? They are dying by the millions as well, since the late 1980s. The war has never really ended there, but has become larger since the beginning of this century. When did people start to care about Somalia again? When their pirates started to attack foreign boats.

 Armegon,

After elaborating chetniks, will you please go and search and elaborate mujahideens and ustashes. Then you will maybe realize that it was a CIVIL WAR in Bosnia, where all three sides had their extreme forces, and where all three nations - Muslims, Croats and Serbs - were killers and victims in the same time.

If you were a bit more interested in suffering of all sides in this horrible war, you would know that there was not only Srebrenica that happened.

Barba, if you want to know how Dutch soldiers see Bosnians at that time, just see the picture below, graffiti that written by Dutch soldiers on the wall of army barracks in Potacari, Srebrenitza, was made poster by a Bosnian artist Selja Kameric, were those ones to defend Bosnians and awarded by Dutch government later?

80% percent of the city was muslim Bosnians, when the UN generals bowed down the Serbian threat, they signed a treachery that Bosnians will never forget. That is such a horrible treachery; UN soldiers distributed uniform, vehicles and weapons to Serbs, and Serbs who were wearing UN uniform, intorduced themselves as UN soldiers and killed the disarmed Bosnian youngsters, children, women and men. Again on the wall of Dutch barracks, it was written UN-United nothing, clearly explains everything...

Slavica,

I do know Srebrenitza was not the only tragedy, my highschool time passed watching civilians were being killed in the streets of Sarajevo. I guess you should also know how former Yugoslavian weapons bribed to Cetnik Serbs, and then massacres started all over the Bosnia, for sure Bosnians started to defend themselves under the leadership of Aliya, this time UN trap prepared for Bosnians as they were disarmed by UN forces, nobody touched to Serbs of course, and again mass-killings started. Inside the borders of Serbian Republic, one cannot show a single piece of land without massgraves where Bosnians, Crotians and Serbs were living together before war.

But Srebrenitza was the city where all the words came to an end. It was a collective humanity crime, shame not only belong to Cetnik Serbs but also the civilized Europe which make Srebrenitza more special. In Srebrenitza one more time it is proved how people can be lower than the animals.  Actually there was a message from the West lying under the Srebrenitza, that was to force Aliya ceasefire, if not " Serbian Army will kill most of the Bosnians when they are going to retreat and the whole world will watch this !" Such an effective message...

What does that poster has to do with being Muslim? If it said "headscarf" then it would be a Muslim thing. I´m just saying that a lot of people from Muslim countries often say that this was allll about the Muslim factor. In fact, there is no connection. You see a Muslim being killed, and you say "it must be because he/she was Muslim",  while at the same time people of all religions are being killed on a daily basis, adding up to the thousands in internal conflict and nobody gives a ***. Is it because the people in Congo are Christian that the Turkish army isn´t helping them?

You can say that at minimum one Dutch soldier was a bastard (the one who wrote on the poster). I´m sure they were more a-holes stationed there at the time. You can´t say it was about the victims being Muslim that the whole operation went horrible wrong. It went horrible wrong because the top people failed, and they didn´t care enough because they didn´t want to mingle in an internal conflict. It was a failure of the system of professional armies, and a failure of humanity.

Poster was a reply to your argument "Dutch don´t see Serbs or Bosnians as muslims and christians" about how they see Bosnians at that time, just to give hints. But the war is very much related to relgions and cultural differences as well as money and land, mentioned many times by Karadzic and Milosevic.

"Remembering the uprising against Turks, the time has come to take revenge on muslims" said by Ratko Mladic in Srebrenitza.

No actually... racist Dutch people see Eastern Europes as the same. It has nothig to do with religion. They look down to all Eastern Europeans, and think Polish, Bosnian, Tjech, whatever are the same. They also think the women have moustaches... or do you think moustache is some kind of slang for Muslim? I think Muslims are sensitive to say everything is "because they are Muslim". In this case this is really not true. Most racist Dutch people didn´t even know there were Muslims in Eastern Europe. By the way, see how I say RACIST Dutch people? Not all Dutch people think as the person who made that poster. You are drawing conclusions about the Muslim thing without proof, and you are also drawing conclusions from grafitti, made by one person. You assume you can know what the entire Dutch population thinks, based on what 1 person said? Do you want me to base my opinion of Turkish people, based on what the Grey Wolves do?

It is a very complicated issue, because it involves many crucial points. Firstly, ability of the EU as such to enlarge, secondly, understanding of European identity, thirdly, attitude of the EU citizens towards Turkey´s becoming a full member, fourthly, issue of Cyprus. In my opinion, Turkey has to become a full member, but it first Turkey will need to pass many obstacles.

One point that amazes me about Turko-European relations is the apparent difference of opinion between public of different European countries and the leaders of the same countries.

While the public at large of most European countries seem to dislike the idea of Turkia´s admission into EU, leaders of the same countries seem to think Turkia is indispensable within future Europea.

The difference is in their levels of ignorance and political awareness. The wiser, having access to facts and figures, favors membership of Turkia.

I think the general lack of enthusiasm for Turkey´s accession among general public may stem from the fact that people have a wrong idea about Turks. You would be surprised how many people in Europe actually think that Turks are dirty, poor, dark-skinned, hairy barbarians living in tents or crumbling houses. They think Turks are all about alis-veris. That turkey is a country where you buy cheap gold of poor quality and tacky sweaters. The general idea is that Turks are a backward, patriarchial society where women´s rights are violated.

Of course the above is not true, but you have to come to Turkey to see it with your own eyes to understand it...and not everybody in the EU is willing to really go and meet Turks.

Now we should discuss the issues that general public is unaware of? Like Turkish nationalism, fanatic love for Ataturk even if it means banning popular video sites or unsolved kurdish and Armenian issues?

All in all I don´t think it´s the general public that decides whom to invite to out EU sandbox...were it so, Romania would definitely not make it in. The general public´s idea about Romanians is way worse than about Turks

some deeply enlighted (and know all, i dare to add) are possibly not aware of existing prejudice and stereotyping. How can obvious things be denied? Turks are still ghettised in Germany and not "liked" by administration treated like a lesser evil.

Turkey really does not have good publicity in european media except for being a cheap holiday destination. Most of general public sees Turkey as unwanted member and still Arabic country. People do not have all in all the slightest idea about her history, social changes in the lifestyle, safety etc.

She is considered a very dangerous country and a threat for european christianity. DD brought the issue of Romanians who in fact are more despised than Turks in many more countries but Romania as a country belongs in public eyes still to Christian heritage of which Europe is so  rideculously proud. Those who rule, just to give an example think like

Graham Watson, Group leader in the European Parliament for the Liberals and Democrats (ALDE) said: "Size matters. The EU needs as many countries as possible which share our values to help us tackle the serious challenges of our age."

The question is if most of EU leaders and parliament members think that Turkey fulfills this requirement. Do they?

note- since I was reminded what I said before by melegim I want to stress the fact that not ALL europeans ( Dabrowski country would make it fifty-fifty)perceive Turkey like described by DD in her post and me above. However, general perception is not encouraging .

Turkish goverments fail a lot about public relations. And Turkish societies´ social development level is not at the place where it shall be. That´s for sure.

However, many Europeans can easily be factious illitaretely. Turkish people are not the only ones who experience that discrimination. I think that bad habbit will harm European society in the close future more significantly.

Europe owns people like Voltaire, who are not prejudiced against others. And Turkey owns people like Yunus Emre, who works so hard for social development.

I hope Voltaires and Yunuss´ strengthen in both societis to reach a brighter future.

Now we should discuss the issues that general public is unaware of? Like Turkish nationalism, fanatic love for Ataturk even if it means banning popular video sites or unsolved kurdish and Armenian issues?

Have we not been discussing these for years? but could not meet on a common base certainly. {#emotions_dlg.doh}

What do you think?

P.S.

It is clear EU has no good intention?I don´t know why?

I think Türkiye is not ready to join the EU and The EU is not ready to approve Türkiye for the time being.

Because France can say “No”.

But Türkiye’s Western Soul aims to build a society (like Turkish European Hun Empire and Turkish European Ottoman Empire in the past) Europe cannot refuse.

The true Historians know it very well.

Because Türkiye has become increasingly integrated with the West through membership in organizations such as the Council of Europe, NATO, OECD, OSCE and the G-20 major economies.

And Türkiye began full membership negotiations with the European Union in 2005, having been an associate member of the European Economic Community since 1963 and having reached a customs union agreement in 1995.

And Türkiye have also fostered close cultural, political, economic and industrial relations with The Middle East, the Turkic states of Central Asia ( 5 Turkish Countries: Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan,  Kyrgystan , Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, Cyprus (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) and the African countries through membership in organizations such as the Organisation of the Islamic  Conference and the Economic Cooperation Organization as a major regional power.

On December 16 and 17, 2010, the heads of state and government of the 27 EU countries met at the European Council in Brussels. The summit focused especially on a common European economic policy and, to a lesser extent, on relations with the EU´s strategic partners.

A period the Turkish accession candidate already experienced but without considerable output concerning its potential membership. The negotiations with Turkey are not going well as demonstrated again by the refusal to open any new negotiation chapter during Belgium´s presidency. The Council Conclusions on Enlargement/ Stabilization and Process adopted by the council formation on General Affairs on 14 December noted that Turkey made good progress toward the fulfillment of the opening benchmarks in the field of Competition Policy and that the Council will revert to this chapter as soon as all benchmarks are met. The opening and successful negotiation of 35 chapters of the so called acquis communautaire are precondition for full membership in the EU; Turkey has only been able to open 13 chapters of which one had been closed since 2005. To bear in mind, the fulfillment of such benchmarks as well as of the Copenhagen criteria is in general not objectively measurable and assessments rely on rather subjective estimations by the European side.

In the light of lacking progress concerning these negotiations one might raise to question why the European Union opened alone in 2010 accession negotiations with two new candidates although negotiations with Turkey are stuck and despite the fact that their accession (negotiations) will have an impact on the EU´s absorption capacity. Their admission could influence the prospect for Turkey´s accession that is candidate for a longer time and deserves therefore privileged treatment; otherwise the EU members could arouse suspicion of dealing dishonestly with Turkey´s ambition.

What you must understand is that admittance of Turkia into EU highly improbable, as such an admittance is very likely to bring EU and USA/ISRAEL into conflict.

Upon admittance, EU will have to jointly guarantee Turkia´s national borders against adverse outside operations; that may not go very well with USA and ISRAEL´s current plans on Middle East.

Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Devleti  (Republic of Turkey – Ankara) is a democratic, secular, unitary, constitutional republic, with an ancient cultural heritage (300 BC- Today AD) :

(Great Hun Empire, Western Hun Empire, European Hun Empire, Ak-White- Hun Empire,

Göktürk Empire, Avar Empire, Khazar Empire, Uighur Empire, Karahanlı State, Gazneli Sultanate, Greater Seljuk Empire, Anatolian Seljuk State, Kharzem Shah State, The Golden Horde State, Greater Timur Empire, Babur Empire, Ottoman Empire, 30 Turkish unities in Asia, Balkans and Europe and Republic of Turkey).

Türkiye has become increasingly integrated with the West through membership in organizations such as the Council of Europe, NATO, OECD, OSCE and the G-20 major economies.

Türkiye began full membership negotiations with the European Union in 2005, having been an associate member of the European Economic Community since 1963 and having reached a customs union agreement in 1995.

Türkiye have also fostered close cultural, political, economic and industrial relations with

- The Middle East, the Turkic states of Central Asia ( 5 Turkish Countries: Uzbekistan – Taşkent , Kazakhstan – Astana,  Kyrgystan – Bishkek , Turkmenistan – Asgabat, and Azerbaijan – Baki),

- Kıbrıs (Cyprus)  (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus – lefkoşe –Nicosia-.

-  and the African countries through membership in organizations such as the Organisation of the Islamic  Conference and the Economic Cooperation Organization.

Given its strategic location –between Asia and Europe- as a bridge, large as well as powerful economy  and army, Turkey is classified as a major regional power.

EUROPEAN UNİON  EU    AVRUPA TOPLULUĞU - AB
As you knuw:
-European Union (EU) is an economic and political union of 27 member states which are located primarily in Europe.
-The European Union is composed of 27 sovereign member states: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. The Union´s membership has grown from the original six founding states—Belgium, France, (then-West) Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands—to the present-day 27 by successive enlargements as countries acceded to the treaties and by doing so, pooled their sovereignty in exchange for representation in the institutions.]
-There are five candidate countries: Iceland, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Türkiye.
-Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina are officially recognised as potential candidates.
Kosovo is also listed as a potential candidate but the European Commission does not list it as an independent country because not all member states recognise it as an independent country separate from Serbia.
Three main questions?
1-Should Türkiye (Turkey) be ready to join the EU?
2-What would happen if Britain left the EU?
3-What are the Norway and Switzerland missions in Europe?

EU demads Turkia´s defence for her efforts to prduce energy from windmills and solar panels (using her own resources). EU consideres this act a breach of jont Custom agreements.

http://www.sabah.com.tr/Ekonomi/2012/12/23/ab-yerli-enerjiden-rahatsiz

With a simple search in Google,  you can find out the owner of the brilliant speech below,

________________

8 Mart 1995 ( TBMM TUTANAKLARINDAN)

Shanghai Cooperation Organisation or SCO is not an alternate to EU, it may be an alternate to NATO. Better for Turkey to join SCO and quit NATO. Theoretically joining EU at the same time possible but they dont want us yet and personally i dont want to join EU either.

We have already a union here. Jedis union. Everybody who meets our criteria can join us. Our only criteria is having a functional brain

but we cannot divide a country into two parts: the ones have brains and have no brains! what should we do then. bir yazarımıza göre milletin yüzde 60´ı aptal, bir önderimize göre milletimiz zekidir. kime inanak, nâpak, nîdek... buyur burdan yak.

i didnt start the latin alphabet project and if i was responsible for that i wouldnt start it, instead of this i would reform the old alphabet or at least use both of them together.

we once was using same alphabet, turkey moved to latin as part of the westernilization project, other turkic countries moved to cyrillic, all of them by force at the beginning. and the result we use different alphabets and even different letters in same alphabet for same sound.
