Quoting Deli_kizin: Quoting AlphaF: Deli_kizin,
You are inconsistent and obviously confused, in your two posts... |
How is that inconsistent? I see a big difference between university and primary school. I think that that religion can and must be discussed with children on primary schools, but they should not be allowed to wear it yet: they have no idea what it means and probably do it because their moms do it. Would they do it if later they realized their mothers wore it for the wrong reasons? No. And they will put it on later themselves if they think their parents reasons for this are right. |

That is another inconsistency...If headscarf is a divine order, it should be required from 13-14 onward.
The Quran surely does not say that Turban is required in Universities, only...

Yes but isnt 13-14 orta okul-lise? Im fine with headscarves in highschool (İ think.. I should think more on this though). But not in primary schools. The difference between primary school and university, and primary school and highschool, is in so much the same, that children havent thought about these kind of things yet. In highschool those kind of subjects start to rise questions in childrens minds and therefore they can make a choice, especially if during primary education they have been made aware of what the İslam (and other religions) are about.
And whether it is an ORDER, is disputable. Muslims in every corner of the world disagree on this topic. That it is divine, no doubt, but an order?

I have recently started reading Kuran. Since its so hard to read (no wonder people think its divine! What kind of human writes such a book :-S) I am still at the third surah. I will report back as soon as I read about headscarves
I must admit I am reading the English version, not taking Arabic classes for another 8 months, and even then I think I'll never manage

I know he only says such to wind me up Wish I could respond the way you do
But in a sort of way, that thought is just kind of gross. Its intention is to keep the women's body hidden from a man. If a child in kindergarten has to do that.. what kind of man are we talking about??

I will refrain from commenting on your question as I am afraid my comment will be an insult to Turkishness.
