To be honest..YES. Both ideas, both approaches are fanatical.
Not only you and the guys in malatya, I can see the same similarities between your approach and the man in the cave's approach.
Well done!! You are doing what he prefers you to do.

ok, let us see, what our handsome turk wrote
i ll just ignore the first part, ok?

Quoting thehandsom:

Are you a good christian by the way?

i feel like being questioned "are you a good comsomol?" that age of pathetic questions seemed have gone away. and i never expected anyone to ask me if im good. did you expect me boast and say "yes im"?
the thing is that im not if i know the definition of a good christian? if you give me one, i shall see if i feet there.

can i ask you the same question?
are you a good muslim?

Since you have ignored the first half and no answer to second part, there is no point..Is there?

Only point is that this whole thread allows FF to let off her negative energy at a whole group of different TC friends..... yet again ....

Which is more negative? To say what you believe in and stand up for other human's rights or to hide your thoughts and "tolerate"?

No one can ever know why someone has a certain opinion. Usually opinion is shaped by experience. I love that some people offer a view that I have never thought of. It is very hard to hear sometimes but if you are truely tolerant, you are open to everyones ideas...even the negative ones. If you shut out negativity from your life, how will you ever know what is positive?

I do not have a problem with people in class disagreeing with each other.

I do not have a problem with people thinking negative things about England, Turkey, religion, me, my bookstore, my anthing else.

I have a problem with the way things are expressed, the sarcasm and the vitriole.

"It ain't what you say, it is the way that you say it"

Deli and FF both disagree with Alpha F and Umut. Fine. I don't think people should surpress their opinions.

But if you read this thread, not all of theses four can express their disagreement in a way that doesn't sound like a slanging match, not all of them show respect in the voicing of their disagreements.

There is a huge difference between being agressive and being assertive.

That is my point.

And now I expect to be shot down again for daring to say this. It seems people confuse asking them to be polite with censoring them. I am not a censor, never will be, and don't want to be. I am just tired of having to listen to headbanging arguments on a forum which had some interesting issues about folk-islamic beliefs as practiced by many people in Turkey.

Long live polite, respectful but still assertive free-speech.

Interesting How about saying "AlphaF and Umut both disagree with Deli and FF?

I will never tire of watching a great debate (with a few sarcasms thrown in ). Its very good fun. I think people just take it too seriously and personally. It seems that we only have complaints when the arguments are about Islam. Anyway, sorry if people find such arguments upsetting!

I don't know what you mean that you expect to be shot down for your comments. Are we only allowed to respond in the way Roswitha did? Anything else is too upsetting for you???

I think the point you just made Aenigma about only ebing 'allowed' to reply in a certain way is the point marion was making. She wants you to be able to say what you want and express opionions however when it just turns into a slanging match its not helpful and often overshaddows some really interesting topics we are discussed here. No one is trying to supress freedom of speech,no no we want the opposite. As i understand it we should ALL be able to express outselves in an adult respectful way. This is a forum!

Did you READ this so-called slanging match? It was actually very funny and informed If people enjoy this kind of debate, why does it offend others so much? Is AlphaF complaining? Umut? Deli_Kizin? Femme?

Yes i read the whole of this thread and i am not offended at all. I just don't like it when the kind of language is used to insult etc But of course i can take a joke, when its funny! God i sound like a right kill joy but i don't like it when people are attacked in a way. Perhaps that is too strong a word but i hope you get my flow.
