Turkey is one of the most popular touristic countries in the world. Over 20 million foreign visitors travel each year to several touristic destinations in Turkey, to have a remarkable vacation time. Turkey offers a huge variety of coastal towns where you can relax and swim, go yachting, do scuba diving or paragliding, or just simply enjoy the sunny weather. In southern Turkey, mountains get so close to the beautiful beaches that in one hour of driving from your beach resort, you can find yourself shivering on a mountain or rafting down the rivers. There are also many winter resorts for skiing and enjoying all sorts of winter activities. A wide array of historical sites ranging from earliest times of human civilization to remarkable twentieth century artifacts and sites serve visitors all year round.

Big cities like Istanbul, Antalya, Izmir and Ankara attract a large number of foreign visitors for business, education, history, culture and nature. The largest amount of visitors hovewer prefer smaller towns focusing on summer activities. Among these are Alanya, Kemer, Bodrum, Fethiye, Kusadasi, Marmaris, Side, Ayvalik, Altinkum, Kas and Kekova.

Turkey also offers unique natural wonders you can see nowhere else in the world, such as the cotton white travertens of Pamukkale and the exotic volcanic formations of Cappadocia. These sites also attract a remarkable number of foreign visitors every year.

Historical and Biblical sites are also abundant in Turkey, as a result of the extremely rich history of Turks and the region where Turkey is founded.
