Quoting Daydreamer:

Look at what's happening here - some members were unhappy with what the site was like, a poll was introduced to investigate the feelings of TC members. Although the result was in favour of those who didn't mind what the site had looked like, decisions were made to improve the site. Yet, still the minority who expressed their discontent in the poll keep complaining about the poll not having been anonymous. Please, do realise that although you were in minority, changes are being introduced. I can't understand what is bugging you about that...

Guys,im not making a suggestion, tho i agree with many of the ones above

But,i want to say something,i knew TLC when i was searching for sites to learn Turkish, and i have found it.
İ came to study, and to be honest,i have found many people who helped me
And then it started to be main source for me to know anything i need about Türkiye too
Any news, any political events, things we dont understand, people here explained much
So,i even didnt bother to try and search for Türkiye's news in TV,i used to come here first and maybe i open TV later
İ wasnt bother if i dont understand any rule in the Turkish grammar,i knew,i can come to TLC and ask,and many will explain to me,and even if i played dumb they wont get annoyed of my many questions, and they wont leave it till i understand
So,i actually owe TLC great deal of my knowledge about Türkiye.
And i owe TLC members great deal of my understanding of the language also

So,if i ask myself now,is this what TLC offering me still ?!
unfortunately,the answer is NO

So,i just dont want to open my TV to know about Türkiye,or search for any language explanation as long as i have TLC
Understand what i mean ?!

Quoting Deli_kizin:

Thank you all for your posts. As Handsom asked, I would like to see some examples of what people understand to be anti-turkish and anti-islam, so that we can decide where the limit should be. I personally have not seen anti-turkish and anti-islam, but something tells me that the people who have complaints about it, think that I am anti-those too, something of which I have a strong feeling it is misjudged. So please fire in some examples, so that we can take a look at them.

Thank you all for your cooperation.

DK.

You mean you want us to go though all those threads and show what do we mean by anti İslam and anti Turkish ?

İ believe as a Mod or admin, its easier for you to review the blocked threads and see it for yourself, and they are many!

Not just a different tradition from a country to another, but also within the same country,
Here, they make fish soup also with heads, but its more popular on the coasts' cities
Even they judge if the one is good cook or not by making such soup ,if its not smelly and has not so ever smell of fish, then she or he is a good cook
But in other cities, specially in Cairo, specially to me ..is not that popular
mmm i cant say to my taste actually because i've never tasted, and will never also...

Quoting AlphaF:

"....... In escalating discomfort, Abed turned to his friend only to find him this time making huge holes in the napkin with his fountain pen.

"What the hell are you doing now?"

"I am putting the dots of my name back to their places," groaned the other guy, peering desolately at the cobalt ink

spots spinning upon the letters of his name, each dot dissolving softly on the napkin, getting bigger as it disintegrated, as if to prove that one way of becoming more visible to the eyes of others in this life was to get as far as possible from your innermost seed: . . . .

When you leave your homeland behind, they say, you have to renounce at least one part of you. If that was the case, Ömer knew exactly what he had left behind: his dots!

Back in Turkey, he used to be ÖMER ÖZSİPAHİOĞLU.
Here in America, he had become an OMAR OZSIPAHIOGLU.

His dots were excluded for him to be better included...."

İ think its sad too,but i believe whether nationalist or not,its normal to feel homesick.

There are links there to other sites that could answer your questions. I suggest asking your questions where you would get input from perhaps some more equipped to answer your questions, as you are getting into technical areas that Canli has told you she is not prepared to answer, and this is not a religious debate site.

Actually,i was going to suggest to go and ask İmam too,but thanks to alameda, maybe the links, would make it easier
As i said,im not İmam to answer technical things, when i needed to know them,i read about them, but of cours i cant reprovide them im not imam nor hafız,but thanks to our debat,i guess i will be memorizing more sura or even ayat than i do
Btw handsom, nice debating with you .

lol lol
Thanks for accepting it canli.
Basically we agreed that what is written in Qu'ran (at least some part of it) is not applicable in today's world..

That was what I was saying since the beginning of this thread:
'Islam/Qu'ran needs reforming according to today's world'

Nice to be agreeing on that

HANDSOMMMM!!!!!!!
İs this what you were arguing with me about ALL from the start ?!!!
And i made researches,quoting verses from Qur'an ,TYPİNG ?!!!!
As a punishment for you....next time,we'll have even LONGER debat lol

What WE agreed about doesnt call reforming İslam, that means applying İslam rules using modern technics

Reforming İslam rules, means changing Qur'an's verses, and no one can do this except ALLAH
Which non of us is 'Astağfarullah'

But of course i agree with the above..which is applying İslam rules with modern technics.

Anyway,i will be waiting for you in the next debat inşallah, and remember...LONGER
