Quoting CANLI:

But you are free to wear as you want !
Maybe only in İran you are not...so do we

Actually this is not always true. It is not only Iran dear. Im glad I havent experienced it myself, but I know of someone from university who was charged to be killed with stones in Afganistan for wearing a t-shirt, and a cousin has been in prison in Saudi Arabia for 2 nights because she didnt walk with a man on the street.

And its a bad thing you were asked for marriage. It means they looked at you as an object without your hijab

Ps:'you' is generally speaking

Thanks for clarifying that canım

I just think it is endearing really, to only be able to defend cruelties of your religion by comparing it to another one. Needless too

Maybe I understood the meaning of devout wrong as not native speaker, I just mean someone who follows the rules as given, and tries to adapt them to his life as much as possible

Quoting CANLI:

You ''many of West'' believe that Saudia Arabian,or Muslims,or people in the third world are not developed enough, not modern enough, dont have open minds...less freedom in thought behaviors...bla bla bla...ect

I wouldnt say such a thing at all, eventhough Im from the west. Fact is: you can wear a burqa or hijab in the UK or the Netherlands pretty safely. If I dress the way I do (which is very decent) in Iran, to give an example, we all know what would happen! In the luckiest case I get sent to prison or sent back home! There is a big difference in open mindedness on that topic!

For some time now, we have all been comfortable and peaceful on the site. Do we want to go back to times when everyone was complaining and fighting and some leaving?

I think everything should be discussible, especially such topics as religion and the relation between east and west. These topics are interesting for people who have a love or an interest in Turkey, because it is a secular but muslim country and the bridge between east and west. As a foreigner, especially from the west, it is not only interesting but also important to have some knowledge about such topics. However, trying to debate who is 'most worse' or the 'best of the worse' does not create any understanding among people. Recent history of our website has shown that such topics do not help understanding, they strengthen the misunderstanding. Exact opposite of what one tries to do happens.

Here's the conclusion:

You are alllll BED! Happy now?

So you've got Turkish students? Where and how? :-S

I teach Dutch and English to (turkish) students at an Egitim Merkezi that provides extra lessons for students who need some extra help, for what reason whatsoever.

But more importantly, Im responsible for all 'written' information that is published on our website or sent to parens or news papers. Now I had to translate some letters that were written in turkish by my şef and that needed a Dutch translation as wel

christianity

Canli, you should stop dragging christianity into every discussion It would work if you, as a devout Muslim woman, would be debating with a devout Christian woman. But since this is not the case, christianity is just an empty argument.

Wilders' film is filthy party propaganda for his racist political party. Catwoman, it may show facts, but when using facts for a certain idea, you color them. This was not made to show facts, Im afraid. This is to show there is no place for muslims in my country.

I dont have a positive opinion about any religion, yet, this is not about religion. This is about internal Dutch politics. Thank god my country was smart enough to see it was a worthless and useless film
