When my mum and i were in Turkey in October we saw a dog that looked like Lassie, she said to Serhat 'Is that an import?', He replied 'no, we have dogs in Turkey too!!'

Bless her!!

Further to the apologies for ignorant English and there are many of them!! Class and age does not divide!

In reply to one message - a lot of older women do not wash their hands after the toilet - I have been witness to this recently on a weekend at what could only be described an "old peoples camp" so the Turkish lady was in fact right to make that observation in a sense

Also the American thing. I was asked if I knew Aunty Betty in Cambridge and did I go to Stone Henge for the day after I told them I lived about 400 miles away.
