This was the first and only thread in TC (so far) that was containing a healthy politico historical discussion. No threats, no insults, no abuse, no offensive language. I really don't understand why kadersokak's account had to be deleted. It makes me sad, really...

Quoting metehan2001:

But the ideal is no nation shouldn't be eachother's enemy. In addition, we are neighbour countries and we can not change this reality. Therefore we must search new ways to improve and develop our relations. And, we must give up to accuse eachother insistently because of what has happened in the past.

that is what i always thinking, as we are neighbours why we are not in better relationship... and the answer is ofcourse, policy and politicians behaviour...

on the other hand qdemir well said that:

Quoting qdemir:

We aren't politicians we can be friends and love each other. We don't have to admit what the politicians try to impose on us.

exactly and as time passes the relation between the youth of both countries are getting well and they start to see what is important...

so, as we are the ONES who choose those politicians, lets hope a increase on the number of open-minded people who will vote...

and this discussion is the perfect example for what a discussion must be... nobody wants to overcome other... and we learn more... that was really nice...
thanks

PRIVACY MATTERS
my old account has been removed by someone because he or she or they did not like the article about the greeks of istanbul. So it is once more clear that there is no privacy on the internet. somebody can take the control of ur personal account and remove it arbitrarily. freedoom of speech and privacy are very important but some people are not familiar with them. so i urgue you to be cautious here...

i wouldnt its free speech you can say what you want. if someone dont like it why dont they say! i dont see any harm in what you have posted here if someone has a problem show us the problem and explain what you think. i think its better that way. no one has to be delete from turkishclass over this. but the i would understand if people got a bit affended!

While two parties are trying to resolve some conflicts between them by succeeding in sitting at the same table, and trying to start a bright future in common, the third party is saying "Do you remember/Don't forget what s/he did to you in the past" to each side.
Can one consider it a sign of benevolence?, or should one consider it malevolent?
Is what the third party doing an act of provoking or freedom of speech?
Is any kind of freedom doing whatever you like whenever you wish?, or should one's freedom end where the other's freedom starts?

It might be interesting to look at what else was going on regarding Greece and Turkey at the time.

1955 - Greek Cypriots begin guerrilla war against British rule. The guerrilla movement, the National Organisation of Cypriot Combatants (EOKA), wants enosis (unification) with Greece.

Dear friends,
I think, we have discussed this matter fairly enough. For the sake of this site, can we close the subject, please.

u are right. the more we learn, the more we get unhappy and angry. indifference to what happened in the past will make us happier.
