Quoting aenigma x:

I agree about the Turkish love of food (I love Turkish food too!). But....I wonder sometimes why Turkish people are so stubborn to try foods from other countries?

I have noticed the same thing (only of my fiance, because I don't eat with any other turkish people regularly) but I have come to the conclusion that its not just the food. It's pretty much his mind set that his parents were perfect (god love him for that) therefore nothing that he eats or does could ever be better then what his parents cook or do. Does drive me quite mad that he will not even attempt Mexican, or chinese food with me as those are 2 of my favs.

Maybe in Turkey it is simply a case of "when you have the best, why try the rest"

Thats the exact reason!
