I cam currently learning 'erek' by...ing and 'olmak'... 'as'

For example:
Telefon ederek haber verecegim - I will inform them 'by' telephone

Hediye olarak aldım - I brought it 'as' a present

However, when I have tried to understand these and put tried to put some togther myself, I have been told they are wrong and they they dont make sense. Please can someone explain why. My examples are below

elerak yaptım - I made it 'by' hand
Pazarlıkarak Aldık - we took it 'by' haggling
iyilik olarak yapacagım - I will do is 'as' a favour
araba olarak gittecegim - I will go 'by' car

I just can seem to grasp it, why is it not the same for the sentances I have created? Please can someone explain to me clearly

car is noun
Elimle yaptım=i made it by hand.
hand is noun

if it is noun then la,le,yla,yle must be used.

if the last letter is vowel than yle or yla.
if the last letter is consonant then le or la.
if the last vowel is back vowel(a,ı,o,u) then it must be yla or la.
if the last vowel is front(e,i,ö,ü) vowel then it must be yle or le.

İf it is verb erek,arak must be used
oku(mak)=(to)read (verb)
çok okuyarak ezberleyebilirsin.=You can memorize (by) reading much


if the last vowel is back vowel(a,ı,o,u) then it must be arak
if the last vowel is front(e,i,ö,ü) vowel then it must be erek

I think the problem here to see the difference between noun and verb. In English, we use the same word 'by' for both.
by walking, by car

But in Turkish, we use 'ile', '-le' for nouns and we use '-arak', '-erek' for verbs.
yürümek ---> yürüyerek = by walking
araba ile = arabayla = by car

Lets see your examples.

Telefon ederek haber vereceğim.
Telefon etmek = To make a phone call (verb)

Elle yaptım.
El = hand (noun)

Pazarlıkla aldik.
Pazarlık = bargaining (noun)
Pazarlık yaparak aldik.
Pazarlık yapmak = bargaining (verb)

Araba ile (arabayla) gidecegim
Araba = car (noun)

So, I guess, you need to know if the word is a verb or a noun.

And the others are totally different. It means "as a ..."

iyilik olarak yapacagım
