Erdinç, your story has given me a COMPLETELY different view about this. I always considered it as a stupid patriotic nationalistic 'suppressing' way of teaching young boys hard life. Now i read yours, i see this from a complete different point of view

Ofcourse i will not be happy when my Kadir has got to go, but ey, thats about 10 years from now (a). So enough time for me to get used to it

Again, thanks a lot for telling this

Thank you for sharing your experiences Erdinc - a really fascinating insight into a very interesting subject - not to mention beautifully written!

Thanks erdinc.
If you want to see your real power and want to see what you can do. You should be a soldier. Who else can say I walked 80 kilometers on mountains.

Thanks for the comments. I don't know how it happens but sometimes I start writing something very normal, very ordinary and then something happens and everthing changes it's appearance. Sentences start melting and flowing like a liquid while I'm watching their shapes. It's like a conversation which starts with "how are you doing" and ends with "you have so beautiful eyes".

Hi

A good friend of mine just started six months in the army. He wont be able to access a computer much and tell me what its like.So I was curious if any of the men out there would like to share what it was like when they were in the army, what they learned from it, and their impressions of it.
Thankyou

This post amazes me! Imagine six months in the army with no computer!I suppose I come from a different era but I dread to think what my sergeant major would have said had I complained. Since Turkey is a member of NATO do any Turkish forces serve abroad?
