Kamaliye, can anyone tell me more about this place? I think it is in the region between Sivas and Erzincan, but I can't find it on my map. Searching Google I get only Turkish links and some about a painter.

What's to do/see there? Are there hotels/pensions?

It's probably Kemaliye, town and a district of Erzincan Province in Eastern Anatolia. Wikipedia says only:

"It has got one of the greatest views of Euphrates. Kemaliye is famous with its historical houses. They have a unique architecture.

Kemaliye is one of the most suitable rafting routes on the river Euphrates.

Also its honey is famous."

But I see many other links as well. Just search as Kemaliye (with e).

The pictures I saw are great, maybe I will visit that town/village (?) but besides pictures I still can't find more information except the wikipedia stuff, it's all in Turkish. Who can tell me more? Can you Turquoise maybe?

So a few questions: how do I get there by bus? Do I have to go to Erzincan or to Erzurum first? Someone who wants to help me searching for a nice place to stay? (I tried bookings.com, hotelopia.nl, turkeytravelplanner.com, virtualtourist.com, enjoyturkey.com and more sites - but nothing that shows information about a hotel).

Quoting culday:

- you can go to Kemaliye from Erzincan by Train or by bus.

- you can go to Erzurum from İstanbul or Ankara by plane or by bus and then you can go to Erzincan and Kemaliye from Erzurum by bus .

If I could find a hotel myself, I wouldn't post that question here, Culday. If you just can give me names of hotels there, than I can find the rest myself I guess.

But I'm not coming from Ankara or Istanbul, I'm coming from Malatya. Is there a connection between Malatya and Erzincan? I found a train trip at TCDD but it takes more than 11 hours mostly at night plus 5 hours waiting at Sivas railwaystation. Can it be done more quick / comfortable?
